Mfuwe Lodge Chalets

Scattered along two lagoons' shady banks lie 18 thatched chalets from which you can enjoy your own private piece of Africa.

Secluded covered verandas look out over wallowing hippo and thirsty game in the lagoons.

Large comfortable beds with mosquito nets, air conditioning, relaxed sitting area and en-suite bathrooms with panoramic walk-in showers are the perfect place to wind down.

Tucked away in a secluded area on the grounds of Mfuwe Lodge is a spacious private interconnecting two-bedroom, two-bathroom thatched villa with a fenced garden, covered dining deck, swimming pool, fire pit, BBQ and pizza oven.

Kuyenda's five raised rondaval chalets of reed and thatch, nestled beneath large shady trees by the Manzi River, combine rustic elegance with classic bush style. The chalets have en suite outside bathrooms with a view, and open up onto large wooden decks that overlook the grassy plain.

Five simple, thatched, raised rondavels set on the edge of a grassy plain, surrounded by the seemingly out-of-place palm trees. All rooms have convertible beds with a huge canopy of mosquito net, all with unique en suite bathrooms, open to the stars above, with double vanities, shower and a view looking out across the plains . The rooms have panoramic views and open up onto a wooden deck where you can look out onto the surrounding plains and the incredible game that frequently saunters through camp, day and night. Offering exclusive, personalized service and tranquility for no more than 12 guests this is a truly authentic African Safari camp. Kuyenda is open from June to November.

Each of Chindeni's four spacious tented chalets overlooks the lagoon and the Chindeni Hills in the distance. It has been newly rebuilt and redesigned, with three standard rooms and one family room (2 BR/2BA and private guide and vehicle). What hasn't changed is the warm hospitality, excellent food, and spectacular game-viewing, including the birds and wildlife flocking to the lagoon - huge "fishing parties" of migratory birds, elephants, zebra, and many more!

Chindeni's Canvas tents

Raised on a wooden decking, Chindeni’s 4 en-suite magnificent canvas tents have private decks from which one can view the resident big game often in attendance, or simply enjoy the extensive birdlife and serenity of the camp and lagoon. The tents are the most spacious in the Luangwa, each with two queen-sized beds or one king bed, shower, toilet and double vanities. The dining area is on stilts above the oxbow lagoon with an adjoining lounge area for relaxing in the open air. Guests have been known to stay in camp during hot October days and see more from the deck than on a drive!

Set on the banks of the Kapamba River, Kapamba Bushcamp's four stone chalets have one wall that is a spider-web design of metal latticework, giving guests an amazing view of the Kapamba River. Clever wrought-iron shutters are drawn each evening so that you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the African night without worrying about unwanted visitors wandering into your room whilst you sleep.

Two of the chalets have tree top salas overlooking the river, a place to game view, read, snooze, or just relax in calm solitude during afternoon siestas.

Kapamba is one of only two bushcamps in the park to stay open from April until January, the other being Zungulila.
