Maweninga Camp | Tarangire National Park
Perched on the top of massive granitic rock, Maweninga Camp has a privileged location in the north-western area of Tarangire National Park. Its numerous herds of elephants as well as its huge baobab trees have established Tarangire's reputation. The tents are built on wooden terraces and offer unique views over the surrounding savannah, the lake Burunge, the lake Manyara and the Rift Valley, and closing the horizon, the volcanoes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area such as the Ngorongoro crater and Oldeani. The camp consists of 16 tents built on the top of the biggest rock. All the tents are quite similar in terms of lay-out and decoration, but each has its own special bush feeling. Tent features include an open terrace, a bedroom and a dressing room alcove with en-suite bathroom (flush toilet, wash basin and shower with 24-hour hot water). The camp's main building has two restaurants, two bars, fire places and a terrace with spectacular views. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available in the mess.

Olduvai Camp | Ngorongoro Crater
Located in the Ngorongoro Conservation area, close to the Olduvai Gorge, the Camp offers a truly unique bush experience between the Ngorongoro Crater and the vast Serengeti plains. Unlike national parks, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area does not exclude human life. Indeed, man and wildlife have been sharing this vast expanse of over 8 500 sqkm for hundreds of years...
The Masai live here on their ancestral lands and continue their traditional way of life. They are herdsmen whose lives revolve entirely around their cattle. The animals not only serve as food, but are also their only form of income and measure of their wealth.
The Camp is built around the shady edges of a kopje. The low hills rise up from the plains, and with massive granite boulders, trees and bushes, are a dramatic feature of the Savannah. The 17 comfortable tents offer a veranda with superb views over the plains, a tree lined shallow valley as well as the spectacular Ngorongoro Highlands and mountains.

Hadzabe people were the first to be known in Tanzania. Out of a community of 1000 persons, only 300 to 400 have kept a traditional way of living. Gathered on the shores of Eyasi Lake, those keepers of the past live from hunting & picking. Refusing to grow any vegetable or raise any stock, Hadzabe people live from day to day, taking what Nature has to offer.
Without a Tanzanian guide, meeting the Hadzabes would be really hard. He will indeed be your interpret since these people speak their own language, “clic” language which none of us is familiar with.
Your day:
Early morning, departure from your lodge. Once in the village, you will be welcomed and offered to
share Hadzabes’ daily activities: hunting and picking. Hadzabes have no equal as regard hunting abilities, watching them is really amazing! Their main preys are small mammals (hares, rabbits, baboons) as well as birds or even small antelopes. This shared moment is also a way to exchange with the last representatives of the world as it was several thousand years ago. Without doubt: one of the highlight of your trip.
Back to the lodge for lunch.
Duration of the excursion (transfers included): approx. 5h
Nestled at the foot of the Rift Valley, Mto Wa Mbu village –« mosquitoes’ river » in Swahili- benefits from a permanent natural water irrigation. Settled between Natron and Manyara lakes, it’s the nearby Ngorongoro area which provides Mto Wa Mbu constant water flows. Coupled with a rich volcanic
soil the area is a beautiful and fertile land. Over the years, lots of people have migrated to this
place to settle and take advantage of what the land can offer. No less than 120 tribes and ethnical
groups have then learned to live together, each of them bringing their own traditions and specialties.
Our day: welcome and greet of your guide before to walk towards various points of interest
