Thebe River Safaris camp offers spacious camping areas with shaded cooking/braai areas. Ablutions are shared and we have 2 large communal ablution blocks with showers with loads of piping hot water, basins, mirrors and toilets. Most of our sites have water tap and a power point on campsite.

Made Up Tents (Coming Soon)
A small number of made-up tents erected in the camp with twin beds. All beds in the tents are mosquito netted ensuring a peaceful nights sleep.

Standard

An oasis set among the Mokolwane palms on the edge of the pans. It is ideally situated close to the entrance to the Nata Sanctuary and is just off the main road, 10 km from Nata village. This is the junction to the Okavango, Chobe and Francistown areas.

The Nata River delta feeds the Sua Pan in the Nata sanctuary and forms the breeding ground for a host of water birds including pelicans and flamingo in their thousands, transforming the shore line into a pink haze blending into the western sky. Nata Lodge offers guided tours in open safari vehicles into the sanctuary, not to be missed.

Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, and is just 10 km away from Maun Airport. It is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a canopy of beautifully lush and green Okavango trees. The lodge overlooks a floodplain of fields and water that are frequented by an abundance of birdlife and the occasional Hippo. The lodge offers a tranquil bush setting that is complimented by the river view, a pool and the iconic tranquil call of the African Fish Eagle. The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge comprises of 12 Chalets, 6 Heritage Rooms and 6 Heritage Family Rooms all with en suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning.The lodge has a main bar and restaurant area with seating indoors or out in the gardens. You are able to choose from a la carte menu for lunches and dinners accompanied by our wine list. It is an ideal place to relax alongside flowing waters, or beside one of the swimming pools, using the free WI-FI services and ordering refreshments from the restaurant. The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge has 12 Heritage Chalets all with en suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning. Island Safari Lodge offers comfortable accommodation nestled in a lush garden. Well spaced out, each room has a lovely view across the tree-lined garden towards the river.

The twelve thatched chalets stand alone, shaded by the foliage of the overhanging trees. Guest amenities are provided.

The spacious campsite is nestled under a riverine canopy, providing plenty of shade for campers. A large, fenced swimming pool is available letting you cool off during the heat of the day.

The campground is subdivided into 10 demarcated campsites, each with access to power and a light. The two main ablution blocks are complimented by a shower block to provide facilities for 100 campers.

Campers can stroll to the lodge along a promenade running along the riverbank to the restaurant and bar where wi-fi is available.

Moremi Day Trip Mokoro Excursion Sunset Boat Cruise

This day trip and excursion into the world famous Moremi Game Reserve starts at Island Safari Lodge. This renowned reserve is home to the Big Five and a multitude of other plains species. This rich and diverse habitat is not only scenic but known for Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Red Lechwe, Impala, Giraffe, Hyena, Cheetah and the endangered African Wild Dog.

We look forward to hosting you and sharing this incredibly interesting and diverse destination with you.

We depart early morning (around 8:00) for a one hour transfer to the mokoro boat station. After meeting your mokoro poler, you depart on a couple of hours mokoro trail through the clear waters of the Okavango Delta. Your poler guide will then conduct a walk on an island formation before returning to the mokoros for a packed picnic lunch. After lunch, your guide will return you to the boat station and you will be transferred back to Island Safari Lodge.

Enjoy a 1.5 Hour Sunset Boat Cruise on the Thamalakane River from the lodge. Experience this majestic area from the water as you enjoy sunset drinks and experience the tranquil surroundings.

Island Safari Lodge Restaurant

The lodge has its own restaurant and well stocked bar, offering guests a convenient, friendly and efficient dining experience.

It is an ideal place to relax alongside the flowing waters of the river, or beside one of the swimming pools, using the free wi-fi and sipping a refreshing beverage from the bar.

Meals can be taken indoors, on tables overlooking the river or out in the leafy gardens. At the fire pit, sit around the roaring camp fire, meet new friends and share stories of the day's adventures.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can select from the à la carte or buffet menu.

Slow down and smell the wild sage at Moremi Crossing Camp. Whether stealthily tracking wildlife on foot or silently moving through the Okavango Delta's waterways on a mokoro, time slows down in the Gunn's Private Concession. With its location across from the famous Chief's Island, this traditional walking and water-based camp now offers game drives. Moremi Crossing is also an excellent option for big groups.

Seasonal game drives provide front-row seats to the wildlife, but with an abundance of postcard-perfect lagoons and floodplains, nature walks, and water-based explorations are the Moremi Crossing forte. Stretch your legs on a guided nature walk that transforms your safari into a sensory experience. You'll learn to track, understand medicinal plant uses and so much more by roaming between lofty termite mounds to gain perspective over the landscape (much like a cheetah). You can also go on an immersive camping experience overnight in the wild for an extra dose of adventure.

Fitting seamlessly into the island's riverine forest of magnificent palms and ancient trees with views of the Boro River, Moremi Crossing is sociable with a simple, back-to-basics approach. Accommodation consists of 16 en suite and spacious tents on raised decks, each with a veranda. These include a Family Tent and a Honeymoon Tent.

Tented suite Family Tent

Single twin or king size double beds, open hanging space for clothes, writing desk, bug / insect repellents are provided. All rooms are elevated on wooden platforms with a small private viewing deck and magical views over the Boro River and Chief’s Island.

En-suite, outdoor shower heated by solar power, separate flushing toilet, hot and cold-water supply.

Family unit includes en-suite double bedroom, separate second twin bedroom, each have their own en-suite bathrooms. Minimum age is six years. Families travelling with children aged 6–12 years are required to book private activities. Children under 12 years are not permitted on mokoro trips or guided walks.

Dqae Qare San Lodge offers a unique Kalahari experience as it is owned and run by the San people (Bushmen). Set up as a social enterprise the Lodge supports the local San D'Kar community through employment and is a crucial project in the San's quest for cultural survival. As a guest of the San at Dqae Qare you will enjoy all the benefits of the excellent accommodation, traditional cuisine and extensive adventure and cultural activities. The Lodge is located on 7500 hectare game farm owned by the San which includes a range of plains game from giraffe to warthog and including leopard, cheetah and brown hyena.

As a celebration of San culture, the community delight in sharing their culture and extraordinary knowledge of the Kalahari with guests through bush walks, traditional dancing, fire making, craft making, trapping and storytelling.
