Cycling through narrow streets and everyday scenes, this experience takes us to the heart of Yanque — one of the valley’s most picturesque
villages. We pass by the local cemetery on our way to the main square, where the imposing Church of the Immaculate Conception
awaits — a baroque gem declared a National Monument. Depending on the day, we may visit local craftswomen who create the region’s
traditional festive attire. The ride ends with a gentle return by bike, accompanied by the village’s quiet rhythm and a deeper connection
to its living culture.

we head to the planetarium, where a specialised guide introduces us to the mysteries of both the Andean and Western cosmos.
Through a telescope, we observe stars, planets and — depending on the season — the Moon or Saturn. We identify constellations of the

The day begins at dawn with a light snack at PUQIO before setting out towards the villages of Lari and Madrigal. From there, a one-hour
uphill walk leads to Chimpa Fortress, situated at 3,262 metres (10,702 feet) above sea level, offering privileged views over the Colca Canyon
and, with luck, the breathtaking flight of condors. On the descent, a special reward awaits: a thoughtfully prepared breakfast served in a
panoramic setting, perfect for regaining strength and absorbing the vastness of the landscape. The experience concludeswith an exterior
visit to the churches, icons of religious syncretism in the valley.

We explore the lesser-travelled corners of the upper Colca on a journey that begins at PUQIO and takes us by vehicle first to the Mollepunku Caves, an archaeological site on the banks of the Colca River preserving ancient rock paintings among striking stone formations. Then, by car, we continue to the castles of Callalli, surrounded by volcanic columns and wind-sculpted cliffs, where local stories and pre-Inca remnants merge with an otherworldly landscape. The day culminates in Sibayo, the “enchanted stone village,” with its Collagua architecture, cobbled streets, and colonial church declared a historical monument, where we enjoy a picnic in a setting filled with history and mystery.

At the heart of the town, we will stroll through the main square and visit the Church of San Francisco de Asís, one of the most remarkable churches in the country, built on the foundations of an ancient Inca temple and restored in the 18th century.

We will visit a local workshop to witness the creation of the iconic Toritos de Pucará and explore the lithic museum, where remnants of its ancient pre-Inca culture are preserved. The visit concludes at the Church of Santa Isabel, a striking reflection of Andean-Catholic syncretism.

We set off from our camp to journey across 81 km (265,748 ft) of everchanging landscapes: striking geological formations, the vast Puya
de Raimondi forest, and the highest point at 4,600 m.a.s.l. (15,091 ft) We then descend to Vilavila to visit its lagoon and waterfall before continuing to Palca, where local artisans preserve the traditional art of alpaca textile weaving. The route follows the river, leading us to Lampa, home to the majestic Temple of Santiago. As our journey nears its end, we visit Pucará, where artisans breathe life into the legendary Toritos.

The Travesía between Cusco and Tinajani reveals a quieter side of southern Peru, with possible stops at lesser-known landmarks. In Andahuaylillas, a baroque church dazzles with Andean-Catholic artistry, while the Inca site of Raqchi preserves the grandeur of the Temple of Wiracocha. At Abra La Raya, the highest point on the route, the snow-capped Chimboya rises above the birthplace of the Vilcanota River.
