Zambia and Malawi Adventure

Located in Lusaka, Zambia, Pioneer Lodge, Camp & Safaris is approximately thirty minutes from Lusaka Airport. Many accommodation types are available, ranging from a family cottage, chalets, and tents, each equipped with bathroom facilities and comfortable bedding. Guests can enjoy relaxing at the on-site swimming pool or drinking at the bar. A variety of different walking trails are accessible to guests from the lodge. Gwabi is a fishing lodge situated on the tranquil banks of the Kafue River undisturbed by passing boats. There is also a large shaded camping ground overlooking the Kafue River, fully equipped with socket points, lights, ablution blocks and braai facilities. The friendly and talented safari team offers indoor/outdoor restaurant meals that accommodate up to twenty people, for breakfast, lunch and `a la carte candle lit dinner. Gwabi is the perfect location for a relaxed weekend away and family time together and is accessible throughout the green season, twelve months of the year. For bird watchers it is the ultimate spot to find over a hundred species of birds, with the help of the lodge’s talented safari guides. Gwabi River Lodge lends itself to supporting local communities; and all the staff come from the local villages and surrounding area. There is wireless internet and a computer available for guests to use.

Located in Chengirani, Chimwemwe Lodge offers comfortable accommodations with sculpted gardens and manicured lawns. The spacious rooms include en-suite facilities and mosquito nets. Guests can enjoy delicious local cuisine at the on-site restaurant. Additional amenities include conference facilities and camping facilities.

Wildlife Camp offers a much needed niche for everyone who is enthusiastic about wildlife, South Luangwa National Park and Zambia – at an affordable rate. At the camp there are rustic en-suite chalets, a secluded en-suite tented camp, a Bushcamp for overnight walking safaris and a stunning campsite, all situated on the banks of the Luangwa River. Wildlife Camp is situated on land owned by the Wildlife and Environmental Conservation Society of Zambia (WECSZ). The camp operates under their auspices and pays a lease to the WECSZ, which in return supports the wildlife and people of the Luangwa Valley and Zambia.

Africa House is ideally located in Lilongwe, Malawi, near the Lizulu Market, the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre, and the Kumbali Cultural Centre. Accommodation options consist of comfortably furnished rooms and suites with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, ceiling fans, refrigerators, safes, tea/coffee-making facilities, and mosquito nets. Guests can start the day with a hearty breakfast on-site. Facilities and services include a swimming pool, a gym, 24-hour security, and Wi-Fi.

Kara O'Mula Country Lodge is located at a pristine site at the foot of the magnificent Mulanje Mountain. The main structure is a 1905 renovated colonial building that was the residence of the district commissioner. It is 12kms from the Likhubula Falls and the Dziwe la Nkhalamba natural pool.

Kara O'Mula Country Lodge has 27 rooms ranging from single bed, double bed, to family rooms. 7 of these are corridor rooms within the colonial building. The rest are the more spacious chalets spread out in various locations within a few meters of each other and feature views of the great Mulanje Mountain, the surrounding tea estates, the Thyolo Highlands, and mountains across the border with Mozambique.

Mvuu Camp has a spectacular vantage point along the Shire River that draws all manner of fauna to its banks. The camp, comprising 14 units as well as a nearby campsite, is a clever mix of spacious stone and canvas chalets and specially designed family tents. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area offers a magnificent river vista that is framed by two large baobab trees. Dinners are sometimes held under the stars in a specially constructed boma. A custom-built education and conference centre with facilities for up to 40 delegates or smaller corporate and team building functions is available.

Mvuu Camp offers a wide range of accommodation options such as full board rates and camping, and a variety of activities including boat safaris on the Shire River, game drives, nature walks & trails and non-stop birding. Trips to community projects in nearby villages and Nanthomba School are also popular.

Mumbo Island is an ecotourist’s dream. Measuring just one square kilometre across, this remote islet is virtually uninhabited and covered with pristine miombo forests interspersed with ancient fig and baobab trees. It is surrounded by the calm, crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi, where you can swim and snorkel amidst schools of vividly coloured tropical fish. You may also encounter the island’s sole mammal inhabitant - playful and curious Spotted-necked Otters. The only resort on the island is built from sustainable natural materials that blend beautifully into the pristine surrounds.
