Named for the year of Dullstroom’s founding, 1883 is a fine food establishment where hunger meets heart and where the charm of Dullstroom is represented in every dish.

1883 is the set upon the original foundations of the Dunkeld Estate farmhouse. 1883 uses fresh local produce and wholesome ingredients for all the menu items.

Our chef has a passion for fine dining and his team brings a delicious à la carte menu to diners with fresh, local produce in each meal. The trout for which the area is so well-known for, features in some of the dishes and comes highly recommended. Pair this with a bottle from the extensive wine selection for a memorable dining experience in this beautiful country setting.

Located at Dunkeld Equestrian Centre in Dullstroom, the Sporting Horse – with its breathtaking views of the countryside offers diners a laid-back experience in a beautifully decorated setting. The resort has also been nominated for a RASA Rosetta Service Excellence Award in 2016, which means you’ll be guaranteed a memorable dining experience and excellent customer service.

Comfortable wingback chairs, fireplaces, and a wholesome menu provide guests with a comfortable dining experience – perfect for cold Dullstroom mornings and evenings. The Sporting Horse is well known for its exceptional breakfasts, which can be enjoyed outdoors while overlooking the horse paddocks and countryside.

The fireplace will heat the restaurant on cold Dullstroom days whilst the menu will warm up your insides with a great selection of food and wine. Try the generous omelettes and home-baked bread for breakfast or a delicious pizza with trout and crème fraiche for lunch.

Dunkeld Jazz Bar is an intimate, contemporary bar, home to delicious food and drinks accompanied by the best blues and soulful jazz music around. ‘Here you’ll find the warm ambience is complimented by our quality service. So come grab a cocktail, find a seat and enjoy a good laugh with friends near the crackling fireplace.

Tshukudu Private Game Reserve adjoins the world renowned Greater Kruger National Park (GKNP) and combines home comforts with the exciting Big 5 safari experience. Tshukudu covers 3800ha of prime Bushveld and is situated close to Hoedspruit in the Limpopo Province.

Each en-suite unit is equipped with a shower, minibar fridge, coffee and tea-making facilities, hairdryer as well as a safe. Amenities are replenished daily. International plugs can be purchased from the Curio Shop. Breakfasts and light lunches are served on the thatched veranda and the evening dinners seated around a roaring fire in the African Boma, under the stars.

The Ladybird Vineyards Lodge is situated in the middle of a sea of organic vines on our 50 hectare working wine farm on the slopes of the Simonsberg, one of South Africa's prime wine-growing areas for noble cultivars. The Simonsberg terroir with its lean deep red soils (Glovelly, Glenrosa) and cooling maritime winds from nearby False Bay is ideal for red wines of body and complexity.

Our Lodge is conveniently located only 40 minutes from Cape Town, 15 minutes from Paarl and Stellenbosch and 20 minutes from Franschhoek. Both the Indian and the Atlantic Ocean beaches are only 45 minutes away. 

The history of the wine farm can be traced back until the year 1818. Originally named “Good Success” and owned by Dutchman Daniel Johannes van Ryneveld from Amsterdam, this vast farm extended to most of the catchment area in the valley enclosed by the Simonsberg, Kanonkop and Klapmuts.
