Jabali Ridge | Ruaha National Park

8 Sep 2024 - 11 Sep 2024

Set high on a rocky kopje overlooking a landscape dotted with bulbous baobabs, Jabali Ridge is a sophisticated base from which to explore Ruaha National Park. The remarkable beauty of Ruaha is not only in the landscape and its diversity of flora and fauna, or the impressive big game but in the feeling of having the wilderness all to yourself. With only a handful of visitors at any one time in an area the size of New Jersey, this is an exceptional safari experience. There are just eight suites hidden amongst the rocky boulders that cocoon the property, designed to blend in with the environment while offering the highest class accommodation in the park. There is a spectacular four-way infinity pool which overlooks the baobab valley, a spa offering pampering treatments, a gin bar to tempt you with pre- and post- dinner refreshment, and plenty of space to unwind when you aren't on safari. Our team of expert safari guides will lead you on game drives and walking safaris to explore this spectacular wilderness area.

LABA Siwandu | Nyerere National Park

11 Sep 2024 - 14 Sep 2024

Siwandu’s tents are designed to provide a cool, luxurious space from which to watch animals and birds; as well as to enjoy the luxuries of a great night’s sleep and a solar-heated, open-air shower. At mealtimes, stroll along to the elevated lounge and dining area to enjoy panoramic lake views, or select a lounger by the pool and simply watch Africa go by. Siwandu’s setting, alongside Lake Nzerakera in the greater Rufiji River system provides perfect seclusion and more than a little luxury. Activities include productive game drives, fascinating walking safaris and relaxed boat cruises on either the lake, or through the waterways of the vast Rufiji River delta. At every turn, you can expect to encounter wildlife and birds, including perhaps the packs of wild dogs for which this area is renowned. Even on the rare occasions where there is no wildlife in sight, you’ll find your wild surroundings to be completely captivating.

INSIDER'S TIP: Start the day with a cup of Tanzanian tea on one veranda; end it with a sundowner on the other.

andBeyond Mnemba Island Lodge | Mnemba Island

14 Sep 2024 - 18 Sep 2024

An opportunity for guests to experience the beauty, culture and tranquillity of the Spice Islands on their own terms. Mnemba Island redefines ‘barefoot luxury’ – and all this on an island that can be walked around in half an hour. A fifteen-minute boat ride from Zanzibar, Mnemba Island offers everything that is wonderful about its much larger neighbour, without the crowds. With just 12 beachside bandas, this is a romantic beach retreat that lets guests do as much – or as little – as they wish. More active pursuits include snorkelling, swimming and kayaking in the warm, clear waters; massages on the beach provide a different way of enjoying the sun and surf. Only a few steps separate the shady forest that lines the beach from the pure white sand and sparkling ocean – the water really is lovely!

INSIDER’s TIP:  Swim out to the house reef for a snorkelling experience just a stone’s throw from the beach.
