AriyasomVilla Boutique Hotel | Bangkok

AriyasomVilla is a charming Thai-style boutique property centred around a 70 year-old Thai home, with a great central location set at the end of Soi 1 (a side street) running off Sukhumvit Road about 10 minutes walk from the Sky train and within easy access of the Airport expressway in Bangkok.

Ariyasom enjoys a setting amongst lush tropical gardens creating something of an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Each of the 24 rooms are decorated in an oriental style reminiscent of the early 20th century using period furniture, silk weavings and polished wooden floors, and come equipped with luxury linen, LCD televisions, wireless internet and a spacious en-suite bathroom.

This character hotel also features an elegant swimming pool with sun loungers, the "Som Sen" Spa, and a restaurant serving freshly prepared Thai and western dishes.

Ariyasom Villa took about 2 years to build and was designed around the theme of 1940´s and 1950´s Bangkok.

The main house was built by the current owners (David and Ayre) grandparents and was their private residence in the 1940’s.

Dining at Ariyasom is based on organic Thai food, largely seafood and vegetarian (no meat). There are plenty of alternative nearby places to eat however if the menu doesn’t fit.

The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort | Krabi

The Tubkaak is a delightful 48-room boutique resort in Krabi's Nopparat Thara National Park on a quiet stretch of beach with a panoramic view of the stunning seascape of the Andaman Sea, about 30-minutes by car from Ao Nang town and 40-minutes from the airport.

The Tubkaak's romantic and peaceful location, coupled with the sensitive design and incredibly friendly staff make the Tubkaak one of Thailand’s best boutique resorts, ideal for couples or for a Thailand honeymoon.

The beach is quiet by the Tubkaak and many people spend the day there lounging on oversized cushions or on one of the hammocks.

Being in the national park, no chairs are allowed on the beach (hence the cushions), which means no serried ranks of deck chairs to spoil the view.

The Tubkaak consists of Superior and Deluxe Rooms set in two-storey villas dotted amongst landscaped gardens with trickling streams and water features.

There are also a handful of villas at the front of the resort, and some beautiful Pool Villas.

We love the Arundia, the Tubkaak's Restaurant by the lotus pond, a picture perfect romantic setting and incredibly good value too.

The Tubkaak is probably our favourite boutique hotel in Thailand. One of the joys of Thailand is its people, and the Tubkaak is lucky enough to have a wonderful team operating the hotel. You’ll meet ‘Sonny’ – who is terrific.

For a romantic boutique hotel in Thailand, the Tubkaak is a fantastic choice – honeymooners love it.

The Tubkaak is in the National Park, so there are no nearby restaurants, except for those in neighbouring hotels. The Arundia Restaurant at the Tubkaak offers a large menu however and prices are reasonable.

Rooms aren’t huge and the dark wood doesn’t make them feel large. They’re nicely equipped though and the bathrooms are very cute.

The Tubkaak Krabi is not really suitable for children.
