What would a trip to the NamibRand Nature Reserve be without a trip to Sossusvlei. From Kwessi Dunes you will be able to spend the day exploring the iconic Deadvlei and Big Daddy dune before spending time at Sesriem Canyon en-route back to camp.

Take in the vastness and beauty of the reserve from above with an early morning hot air balloon flight.

Exploring the sandy wonderland of Kwessi Dunes.
Brilliant way to see some of the smaller, more often overlooked sights of the desert, and really immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the Kwessi Dunes.
Desert winding through your hair, and hefty dollops of fun, this one’s always an unforgettable experience. It’s a surprisingly eco-friendly way to maneuver the environment too. Stop for scintillating species and sundowners.
Time to saddle up, and journey through the area on horse back. Infinitely quieter than a game drive vehicle, a saunter aboard a horse will be interrupted only by the soft thud of hooves on sand, an occasional whicker, and the guide’s voice, offering insight into the sights around you.
Hoanib Valley Camp | Hoanib River

The Hoanib Valley is a well known linear oasis of vegetation running through one of the most spectacularly beautiful deserts in Africa. Large game such as desert adapted elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion and rhino move freely through this vast, mountainous and wild landscape.Hoanib Valley Camp sits on the bank of the Obias River, overlooking the Hoanib River Valley - a valley that fluctuates between seasonal river flows through grassy, springbok-dotted plains or dry sandy riverbeds with resident elephant.
Hoanib Valley Camp is ‘’clean and green’’ , leaving virtually no footprint on this fragile eco-system. The camp has been built in partnership with the Sesfontein community and the most successful long-term giraffe research organisation in the world, the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Their research not only focuses on the desert-adapted giraffe of the Hoanib, but helps to monitor elephant and general game in the area.
Six tents (1 family and 5 twin) are raised on spacious decks, each with their own private veranda. Tents are en-suite with a separate toilet. Hoanib Valley Camp runs on solar power. There will be low volt charging points in the tents for batteries and cameras but you’ll have to leave hairdryers at home. Good, wholesome meals created by the wonderful chefs are served to guests.

Shipwreck Lodge | Skeleton Coast

Shipwreck Lodge is the only lodge inside the Skeleton Coast National Park, 45km north of Mowe Bay on the mouth of the Hoarusib River. Uniquely designed around the relics of shipwrecks that dot Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, there’s nowhere on the continent quite like Shipwreck Lodge. In fact, there’s nowhere on earth quite like the Skeleton Coast. It’s a raw, rugged and impossibly remote slice of African wilderness, where towering dunes and wind-swept plains roll as far as the eye can see, buffeted by the icy Atlantic seas.
But there’s much more to the area than simple isolation. Stay at Shipwreck Lodge and track desertdwelling elephant and elusive desert lion. Discover the enchanting desert flora (succulents and lichens) then sit atop the dunes as the sun sinks below the horizon. Spend the day beachcombing for whale bones and debris from centuries of shipwrecks or marvel at the geologically-remarkable Clay Castles.
Shipwreck Lodge is a joint venture partnership with Namibian businesses, local communities and Natural Selection. This brand new camp boasts an innovatively designed lounge and restaurant with a wide deck and uninterrupted views all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. 10 cabins (8 twins and 2 family tents) are en-suite and solar powered all with views of the wild Atlantic Ocean. To keep guests warm on the cold coastal nights each tent has a wood burning stove.
