JIS - Rocktail Beach Camp - Self Drive

The blue waters and endless golden sands of the Maputaland Marine Reserve provide the setting for adventures including underwater exploration and watching huge turtles nest on the beaches in summer.

Situated 20 minutes from the beach in a lush dune forest, Rocktail has 14 en-suite rooms (of which four are family rooms with shared bathroom and two bedrooms, and one is the honeymoon suite). The central dining and lounge areas feature a wraparound veranda, a large pool, sunny deck and curio shop. Activities include some of the best SCUBA diving and snorkelling in the world, and the kind of family activities that create perfect childhood memories.

INSIDER TIP: Discover fascinating underwater wonders on a ‘game drive’ at sea. Be on the lookout for bottlenose dolphins, mantra rays, turtles and whale sharks.

There are nine standard tents which are made up of five twin bedded tents and four double bedded tents. (5 x twin-bedded canvas tents each with two three quarter beds

There are four family canvas tents each with 1 x king-size bed in the main bedroom and 2 x three quarter beds in the second bedroom. Each family tent consists of 2 bedrooms, sharing the same bathroom, common area and entrance.

The honeymoon unit has a wonderful view over the ocean and dune forest. The unit has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, open-feel indoor shower and overhead fans.
