Mawamba Lodge has a unique and privileged location in the exquisitely evergreen Tortuguero Canals and National Park. Often referred to as "the little Amazon in Costa Rica", the area is a tropical haven for a great array of wildlife, and the lush forest boasts innumerable trees, plants and wild flowers.

The lodge features a total of four room categories, from standard rooms to bungalos. Each room is equipped with an in-room safe, ceiling fan, private bathroom and an outside porch with hammock and rocking chairs.

Lodge's facilities include swimming pool, restaurant, direct beach access, manicured tropical gardens, bar, lounge, outdoor sitting areas and hammock facilities and a unique tropical rainforest experience, plus featuring the only floating restaurant in the area, where one can enjoy a sumptous meal while cruising the Tortuguero canals.

Water activities like boat tours, kayaking and canoeing combine with nature walks, night hikes and visits to the Tortuguero Hill to create unique outing opportunities.

All standard rooms feature a tropical and rustic atmosphere, surrounded by the forest, the sounds of the river or the ocean, and the natural scenery. They feature ceiling fans (No a/c), outside porch with hammocks and rocking chairs, private bathroom and in-room safety deposit box.

Bedding offered includes rooms with King bed only, others with one queen and one single bed or rooms for families with two queen beds. No roll away beds available.

Superior rooms (king jaguars) offer tranquility, quietness and a more ample space to relax and stretch. A wonderful choice for couples, honeymooners, and special occasions.

Located at the back end of the property, superior rooms offer a nice, quiet location with ample accommodations. 04 of these rooms are independent "casitas" and the other 4 only have one room neighbor. Out of the 8 rooms, 6 have a king bed only and 2 feature besides the king bed, an individual one.

They feature ceiling fan, ample private bathrooms, seating area, and in room safety box.
