Every Friday, wind down from the week at Sokoni. Happy Hour drinks are half price between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and the sumptuous African Buffet runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A showcase of local, regional and international cuisine, the unrivalled variety and style of the buffet is complemented by the quality of the resident band, who take the stage at 7:00 p.m.

Child-Friendly Food

Sokoni is exceptionally child-friendly, especially on weekends, and it’s one of the city’s favourite family venues. The children’s menu is guaranteed to appeal to youngsters of all ages and is on offer all day, every day. What’s more, children under 12-years eat at half price.

One of Kigali’s most popular dining venues, the Milima Restaurant overlooks the pool and has been styled to offer a classically elegant interior with a light-filled atrium overlooking the verdant tropical gardens. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at Milima, each with its own subtly different ambience, and each as suited to a business briefing as to a more relaxed social or family event.

The beautifully decorated Executive Lounge and Bar with its opulent Bedouin-style tented terrace are reserved for exclusive use by hotel guests. With a selection of newspapers and periodicals, it also offers café service and Wi-Fi throughout the day. and access to the extensive business center

Enjoy one of Kenya’s most captivating dining experiences in our Maasai-inspired dining room overlooking the plains of the Masai Mara and down to the river. Decorated with traditional Maasai motifs, it offers open-plan seating (inside and outside) and a relaxed atmosphere. Linked to the dining room is a welcoming bar area, which also offers exterior seating around the nightly campfire.

Breakfast and lunch are presented as buffets and feature a wide range of international choices. In typical safari-style, we offer a ‘full English breakfast' as well as European options. Our lunch menus will typically include meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian dishes. Other dietary preferences can be accommodated with prior notice.

Our five-course table d'hôte dinner menus feature a wide array of choices and vegetarian options are always available. Guests may also enjoy three special ‘theme' nights. This popular feature offers a broad selection of international options, ranging from pasta to BBQ to authentic Kenyan specialties. Enjoy “Nyama Choma” (traditionally roasted meats), “Sukuma” (local kale cooked with tomatoes, onions, garlic and coriander), “Posho” (maize) and other local delicacies.

Depart the lodge after an early morning cup of tea and enjoy an exhilarating game drive in the crisp morning air, keeping an eye out for matriarchal elephant herds, the lion prides and all the other wildlife in which the Mara abounds.

Arriving on the banks of the world-famous Mara River, you will be met by a traditionally clad Maasai warrior who will lead you where countless hippos wallow. Once you reach a clearing, you will be offered a glass of chilled sparkling wine or fresh juice before being shown to your table, which is located in a shady grove immediately alongside the hippo pool. Beneath the trees, you will find a full display of fruit, patisserie and cereals as well as a line of chefs ready to cook eggs, bacon, sausages and chicken to your specification.

Please join us for a classic safari sundowner 'bubbly cocktail', on Lookout Hill with panoramic views across the Mara plains. The event includes a sundowner with hot and cold canapés and a full bar. It’s a traditional Maasai welcome that includes being greeted by the elders as well as traditional dressing and entertainment by a local guitarist and traditional Maasai dancers (by request and subject to a fee). Beverages are charged as per consumption.

All meals are typically presented with tables, safari chairs, a ‘bush bar' and a ‘bush kitchen,' where a broad range of meats, poultry, fish and vegetables are cooked on-site (supplemented by fresh soups, salads and desserts from our hotel kitchens).
