Tarangire Safari Lodge is located within the national park boundary of Tarangire National Park, approximately 10 km away from the main entrance. Perched at the edge of a natural bluff, the lodge is renowned for it’s panoramic views of the Savannah and Tarangire River below, providing breathtaking scenery and game viewing. The lodge’s safari tents, with thatched roofs and large, mesh screened windows, provide the ideal opportunity to connect with the sights and sounds of nature. Each tent has a comfortable veranda, ideal for bird and game viewing, or reading a favorite book after a dusty safari. With a choice of twin, double, or triple accommodation, all tents are equipped with en suite bathrooms with solar heated showers, ample cupboard space and a cultural touch of local textiles. The five circular bungalows, built in a similar style to the Maasai boma, offer a more spacious option for family and triple accommodation. The airy rooms are situated near a large watering hole, creating the opportunity to watch wildlife from the shaded veranda. The bungalows are set away from the main lodge, providing privacy, and all are equipped with large en suite bathrooms with solar heated showers, and comfortable bedding made from local textiles.

Ideally located on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater rim, the Rhino Lodge offers an ideal base from which to explore the Ngorongoro crater and it’s surroundings.

There are 24 guest rooms, all with verandah overlooking a stretch of high montane forest. Each room has its own shower, toilet and hand basin.

To keep away the cold each room has a wood-burning stove, and hot water bottles can be filled if you want one.

In the bar and dining-room there are two large fires which are a natural focus where guests like to meet and exchange stories of the day. You can also enjoy the view and nearby wildlife from their outside terrace behind the restaurant.

Rhino Lodge is also an excellent base to explore this beautiful region on foot with a local guide; walk the crater rim, hike the Empakaai Crater and various others - please ask us for more details.

Kiota Camp Serengeti is now called Nyikani, and opened in 2015 and is permanently located in the Central Serengeti, taking advantage of the year round wildlife viewing the Seronera Valley and nearby areas have to offer. The Central Serengeti is famed for it’s healthy population of large cats, permanent game around the Seronera River, and Rettima Hippo Pool.

Nyikani is a traditional tented camp with each tent set apart on a gentle hillside, facing over a large valley. A table and chairs is set up outside each tent, a great place to read a book and keep an eye on the wildlife in the valley below. Inside the tents are spacious, with large and comfortable hotel beds, and a table with chair for writing a few notes. Large bathrooms with double basins are ensuite and wash facilities are provided in the form of bucket showers - replenished as required.

Delicious meals are produced from a humble kitchen and a while service is friendly and efficient, provided by local Tanzanian men. Kiota operates off-the-grid and sourced all furniture from artisans in Arusha. Hard plastics and tin are recycled in Arusha, while rainwater is collected in staff areas. Organically grown herbs, fruits and vegetables from Arusha are supplied to the camp.

Chaka Camp is a semi permanent camp located in the Serengeti ecosystem. Chaka Camp moves seasonally and is located in Ndutu from December through March and Northern Serengeti from late May through October. With just ten tents, the camp offers an authentic and intimate bush experience in the middle of the Serengeti wilderness. Chaka Camp follows the wildebeest migration, covering hundreds of kilometers as it moves seasonally around the Serengeti.

Chaka Camp operates off-the-grid and relies on a custom-built solar system for its power. Room fabrics are handwoven African designs, and the camp’s furniture was commissioned and crafted by artisans in Arusha, Tanzania. Hard plastics and tin are brought back to Arusha for recycling, and rain water is collected in Chaka’s staff areas. In Arusha, they have their own gardens of organically grown herbs, fruits and vegetables which are used to supply the camp. Chaka’s management team is involved in local tree planting projects to help offset the camp’s carbon footprint, and has planted more than 2000 indigenous trees in the last two years around the Arusha area.
