Basecamp Adventure is a tented camp made of only 6 tents located on a beautiful, forested bend of the Talek River, right next to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, and embodies the essence of simplicity under canvas with an abundance of private open space for the intrepid explorer yearning for an atmosphere of adventure.

The intimate and relaxed atmosphere of the camp allows you a unique safari experience in a prime wildlife area. It is the ideal place to unwind, either in the lounge reading a book or from the comfort of your tent, where you can spot different animals as they take a drink from the river.

We provide 6 Twin/Double spacious Tents with proper beds, linen, and duvet, each complete with an en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, and a shower. All Tents have unique views of the open Savannah and Talek River with a private terrace with comfortable seating.

Double Riverside Tents

Basecamp Adventure has 6 accommodation tents, each fitted with a double bed, bio-flush toilets, solar-heated showers, and a private terrace with stunning views of the river and the plains beyond.

Game Drives Camp Walk Bird Walk

Our game drives are usually conducted in the early mornings, and late afternoon since these are the most incredible times of the day when most animals are more active. During the game drive, our knowledgeable Maasai guides will introduce you to life in the savanna and share their infinite knowledge about African wildlife.

Walk across the camp with the Maasai who have been doing it for generations. Learn the Maasai's basic survival skills. Listen to the secrets of the Savannah and let the gentle winds urge you forward.

Bird walking safari is one of the main activities carried out at Basecamp Masai Mara which is located along the Talek River. Basecamp Masai Mara is surrounded by a wealth of diverse flora and fauna. Over the years we have managed to revive the Talek River ecosystem by planting trees to address the pressing issue of deforestation and ground erosion. The afforestation program has since attracted over 300 bird species that have been recorded in the Masai Mara, including the endemic birds and the other wildlife species that it possesses.

Basecamp Adventure Restaurant

Participate in special activities, such as dining under the stars with a barbeque bush dinner, a beautiful river view breakfast, or lunch under the dappled shade of the giant fig trees, each complemented by a selection of drinks. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

The Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort is located in Naivasha and features views of Lake Naivasha and the Rift Valley. The lodge features various accommodation types including lodge rooms, villas, and chalets. The rooms are comfortably furnished and are equipped with Wi-Fi access, hand-made wooden furniture, and ensuite bathrooms. Guests can enjoy food made from fresh and flavourful ingredients, at the hotel's onsite restaurants.
