Located in the Okavango Delta, 4 Rivers enjoys exclusive use of the western side of the enormous Kwara Private Concession. Only in 2023 did this isolated area — the last pristine vestige of the Okavango — open to pioneering guests. This is the great unexplored!
Set on the banks of the Tsum Tsum River, 4 Rivers is tucked into ancient woodlands and looks across a permanent hippo-filled lagoon to Maboa Island, a stunning landscape to be discovered on nature walks — our specialty!
This area is a refuge to stunning biodiversity due to its confluence of waterways, open plains and forested islands. The wide variety of wildlife includes African wild dogs, lions and leopards and a large cross-section of plains game. Explore this beautiful area on foot, by vehicle or silently through the Delta by seasonal mokoro.
Designed for a classic bush experience, the camp has nine large spacious en-suite tents (including a family tent) featuring a pretty patio, lounge area, plus indoor and outdoor showers. Guests can enjoy delicious meals in the main communal area, which includes a dining room and a bar. Additional amenities include a safari shop and cosy lounge areas.

Slow down and smell the wild sage at Moremi Crossing Camp. Whether stealthily tracking wildlife on foot or silently moving through the Okavango Delta's waterways on a mokoro, time slows down in the Gunn's Private Concession. With its location across from the famous Chief's Island, this traditional walking and water-based camp now offers game drives. Moremi Crossing is also an excellent option for big groups.
Seasonal game drives provide front-row seats to the wildlife, but with an abundance of postcard-perfect lagoons and floodplains, nature walks, and water-based explorations are the Moremi Crossing forte. Stretch your legs on a guided nature walk that transforms your safari into a sensory experience. You'll learn to track, understand medicinal plant uses and so much more by roaming between lofty termite mounds to gain perspective over the landscape (much like a cheetah). You can also go on an immersive camping experience overnight in the wild for an extra dose of adventure.
Fitting seamlessly into the island's riverine forest of magnificent palms and ancient trees with views of the Boro River, Moremi Crossing is sociable with a simple, back-to-basics approach. Accommodation consists of 16 en suite and spacious tents on raised decks, each with a veranda. These include a Family Tent and a Honeymoon Tent.

Operated in collaboration with the Sankuyo Community Trust, Rra Dinare Camp provides an authentic experience of Africa's extraordinary wilds hosted by the people who live there. Adjacent to Moremi Game Reserve on the southeastern side of the Delta, parades of elephants are regulars to the panoramic floodplains of the Gomoti River, as are lechwe and massive buffalo herds, after which this thrilling area is named. 'Dinare' means 'many buffalo' in Setswana, and plentiful lion prides stalk in the wake of this prey. Ebbing waterways of the Gomoti River feed luscious grasslands, and this territory contains critical dry season watering points, so game-viewing is great year-round.
Rra Dinare Camp has eight tents, including a family room, with spacious decks and a sitting area to appreciate the views. The camp also features open high thatched spaces (all the better to soak up the natural surroundings), a swimming pool, a safari shop, and a dining area where meals are taken family-style.
The Sankuyo community directly benefits from your visit. Over 60 employees at the Dinare camps are from the Sankuyo village, and further proceeds support local development.

Enjoy a classic Botswana safari at Mma Dinare Camp. Operated in collaboration with the Sankuyo Community Trust in the Dinare Private Reserve (allowing off-road and nighttime game drives), this traditional safari stay has a positive impact.
Keep your camera handy! Mma Dinare (meaning ‘Mother Buffalo’ in Setswana) is designed to embrace the natural surroundings. Thatched and open, the central area is a great place to relax and watch the wildlife drawn to the Gomoti River. There are nine canvas tents and one family tent, each with an elevated deck, en suite bathrooms and outdoor showers. The main area comprises a bar, swimming pool and safari shop. The dining and lounge area is raised on stilts and decked, with an attractive fire pit area adjoining it.
Seasonal mokoro rides thread through the Okavango Delta waters. The Sankuyo community directly benefits from every visit. Over 60 employees at the Dinare camps are from the Sankuyo village, and further proceeds support local development. Citizens of Sankuyo fund crucial projects via this trust, such as installing household water connections that minimise human contact with dangerous animals and a high-tech, eco-friendly solar system.

The secret safari superstar is home to a great migration! Follow explorers to the little-visited Nxai Pan National Park, an extension of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan network.
Zebras migrate here by the thousands to drop their young during the rainy season, completing the longest mammal migration in Southern Africa. Dust-white elephants depend on the permanent waterhole at Nxai Pan Camp (the only permanent camp in the national park) during the dry season, and predators, such as Kalahari Black-maned lions, lurk, waiting for prey to take an unsuspecting sip. There are also a vast springbok population, wildebeest, bat-eared foxes and large groups of giraffes.
Nine spacious tents include a relaxed lounge area, indoor and outdoor showers and a veranda facing the waterhole. One room has an additional twin bedroom for family use. The main area has a swimming pool and minimalist open-air lounge with decor echoing the salt pan landscapes. The thatched dining area and bar maintain a comfortable temperature year-round.

Game drives are undertaken in custom designed Toyota game viewing vehicles seating no more than six guests at a time in two rows of three seats. Guests are guided by a two person team of professional guide and tracker - a special feature of the Kwando Safaris wildlife experience. The two person team enables the guide to communicate points of interest and the complex interrelations that exist throughout the natural world, while the tracker ensures no sightings or tracks are missed. At Tau Pan, the tracker comes from the San Bushman tribe, a tribe that has traditionally lived in the Kalahari desert for generations and is intimately acquainted with the area and wildlife that is endemic to the Kalahari.

Walking with a member of the San Bushman tribe allows guests to appreciate how the tribe used to live off the land through traditions and skills passed from generation to generation. Conducted close to the camp area, the walk is conducted at a slow pace designed to allow engagement and question asking so that guests may better understand the nature of the bushman to the environment around them. Knowledge about how they would hunt, trap animals, and the manner in which they use the flora and fauna in their environment to help them survive are all shared with guests. Questions are always welcome!

Located in the south of Nxai Pans National Park are the seven baobabs known as Baines Baobabs or the Sleeping sisters.
Day trips to Baines’ Baobabs are highly popular, and include a picnic lunch at the site. These age-old trees were immortalised in paintings by the artist and adventurer Thomas Baines in 1862. If you were to compare Baines’ paintings to the scene today, you would find that after 150 years, the trees are nearly identical – testament to the age of these magnificent giants.

The dramatic desert of legend and home of the San. Tau Pan Camp was the first lodging welcomed to the famous Central Kalahari Game Reserve and an unprecedented opportunity to establish camp in one of the world's largest pristine wildernesses. It occupies unrivalled placement high on a dune ridge, overlooking a waterhole and game-rich plains. The vistas are magnificent — vast skies, tremendous savannah — and the camp design takes every opportunity to exploit this location.
The main area includes an open bar, lounge and dining areas all set around the fireplace, which is the ideal spot for spotting game at the waterhole. 'Tau' means lion in Setswana and the pan is so named for its pride of iconic black-maned Kalahari lions, who are frequent visitors to the camp.
Discover the land of the lion through ancient San eyes. Also known as the Bushmen in Botswana, indigenous trackers provide life-giving insights on surviving in this harsh paradise during a spellbinding nature walk. When you enter this world as a student, it ensures the conservation of their fast-vanishing San culture. Stargazing is astonishing in this remote location and best experienced with a night below the Milky Way on the sleepout deck.

Imagine falling asleep while unobstructed views of shooting stars streak across the sky, and counting the twinkling of stars until you drift off to sleep.
Located in a secluded spot at the far end of the camp, the sleep-out deck is an intimate experience for two, who wish to spend a wonderous evening under the impressive Kalahari night sky. The raised deck comprises 2 three-quarter beds, a washbasin and a toilet. Guests will be walked to the deck after dinner to spend the night, and can resume game activities in the morning as usual.
This can only be pre-booked with a minimum 3 night stay. Otherwise it can be booked upon the clients’ arrival in camp, subject to availability, and weather permitting.

Splash Camp is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta, within the Private Kwara Reserve. This brand new camp will offer a very relaxed, friendly and authentic atmosphere.
The area has long been known as Splash due to the huge water crossings that had to be negotiated to access the camp area.
The Kwara Reserve shares a 30km water boundary with the famous Moremi Game Reserve and its unique location boasts both permanent water and seasonal flood plains as well as extensive dry bush wilderness. Favoured by labyrinths of permanent water channels and secret islands this area offers the perfect delta experience, and is considered to be amongst the best in Botswana for game viewing and activities.
This huge area is comprised of over 175 000 ha (432 000 acres) of pristine wildlife area bordering Moremi Game Reserve and offers the perfect balance of permanent water, seasonal flood pains and extensive dry bush wilderness, supporting resident wildlife year round.
The camp will feature 10 en-suite guests tents plus 2 family tents, making the Kwando portfolio very family friendly with family tents in every camp. The camp will have an Enclave, similar to Shinde, which hosts a second main area that can be booked for groups of 6-10 guests, perfect for families with plunge pool, dining area and lounge and bar.
Camp guest tents are situated on raised decks overlooking an open pan which attracts game year round. All are en-suite with a flush toilet, double sinks and both an indoor and an outdoor shower. The main area has a plunge pool, bar, and lounge as well as an orientation center and a curio shop. Just in front, towards the lagoon is the fire pit where a light breakfast is served each day before heading off on activities, and stories are told after supper in the evenings.

Located on a beautiful island beside a hippo-filled lagoon in the Okavango Delta, Pom Pom is a long-established camp that offers a haven for several notable animal species. Big cats steal the show in the monthly sighting’s reports. Leopards love to loll about the towering trees while the grasslands remain spotted hyena strongholds, and African wild dogs hunt lechwe along the flooded shores. Wildlife is prolific.
Combine this great game with classic safari tents and a stunning lagoon setting; Pom Pom is the quintessential Okavango Delta camp and is ideal for the safari traditionalist. The camp has nine tented suites with sweeping views of the Okavango scenery and a swimming pool beside the main thatched building. Guests gather at the cosy bar, firepit, lounge and dining area for homely meals prepared by safari chefs.
Activities include off-road and night game drives, nature walks, seasonal mokoro excursions, motorboat safaris, and fishing. During the flood season, mokoro trips depart from the front of the camp. Gliding silently through the lagoon, you'll encounter abundant aquatic life, including Painted reed frogs, African jacanas, malachite kingfishers and more. Motorised boating safaris provide another, more exhilarating means of exploring the enchanting network of channels and lagoons.

Game drives are undertaken in custom designed Toyota game viewing vehicles seating no more than six guests at a time in 3 rows of 3 seats. Guests are guided by a two person team of professional guide and tracker - a special feature of the Kwando Safaris wildlife experience. The two person team enables the guide to communicate points of interest and the complex interrelations that exist throughout the natural world, while the tracker ensures no sightings or tracks are missed.
The evening/ night drives are a Kwando Safaris speciality. The drive starts in the late afternoon as the day’s heat is declining. After a leisurely pause for the traditional sundowner, and as the African day is transformed into a soft colourful evening canvas, the night drive begins. The mystery unfolds as the creatures of the night, especially the predators, are revealed by spotlight, often unexpectedly.
Due to its location in a private concession, game drives can go offroad to allow vehicles to be positioned closer to special predator sighting which enhances the photographic and game viewing experience.

Lagoon Camp sits gracefully on the shaded banks of the Kwando River, nestled among towering ebony and marula trees. This densely forested site hosts a diverse range of birds and mammals. Such breathtaking scenery and close proximity to wildlife create a serene camp atmosphere. With a well-earned reputation for big game, this area is renowned for its seasonal large herds of elephants and buffalo. In the winter, herds of up to a thousand are commonplace, and the riverbank is a popular spot for large numbers of elephants to gather in full view of the main camp deck.
This remarkable concentration of game attracts the attention of large predators, such as the Lagoon African wild dog pack that frequently dens close to camp. The camp boasts nine spacious tents with private decks, a living area, and a river-facing bathroom. All tents have indoor and outdoor showers; one includes an additional twin room for family use.
The main thatched areas of the camp feature a bar and lounge, dining area, safari shop, and a second-level library overlooking the Kwando River. Guests can swim in the river-facing swimming pool, relax on the outdoor deck swing, or indulge in an afternoon boat cruise, and seasonal fishing is also available.

The boat experience is a soothing tonic, a contrast to the vigorous efforts of searching for mammals from a vehicle or on foot. Sit back and while away the hours, stopping to gaze at a multitude of spectacular birds and bathing elephant and enjoy the vistas of the river systems. However, don not be surprised should the peace be shattered by the snort of a territorial hippo warning the boat of his presence! Double-decker boats are used to provide a better vantage point and offer a wonderful position to enjoy the waterways and their varied inhabitants.

Fishing is also offered at Lagoon for 10 months of the year but is prohibited in January and February as this is peak breeding season. Basic equipment is supplied, but avid fly fishers are advised to bring their own equipment. One may actually fish from the main deck. Species that are targeted by sports fisherman are several tilapia (bream) species (including the olive bream or nembwe, red breasted tilapia, purple faced large mouth and three spot tilapia), sharp tooth catfish, African pike and the mighty Tiger fish.

Sharing precious permanent waterways with Moremi Game Reserve, the elegant Kwara Camp overlooks a gorgeous lagoon in the game rich Kwara Private Concession and is well-known for consistent predator sightings.
Lion, cheetah, and leopard are often sighted, herds of elephants frequent the area, as well as giraffes, zebra, lechwe, impala and hippos. Explore this wealth of wildlife from the adult only Kwara Camp with nine bright and spacious suites. Each tent has a spacious deck, an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and a beautiful bath – all of which have views across the floodplains.
Kwara offers five activities all year, with no seasonal restrictions: walking safaris, offroad game drives morning, afternoon and night, motorboat and mokoro trips, plus seasonal fishing. The double-decker boat experience grants views across papyrus-lined channels to scan for birds and the shy sitatunga. The Godikwe Lagoon is a favourite seasonal highlight, which abounds with life during the heronry breeding season.
The communal area at the center of the camp consists of the dining area, lounge, and safari shop, with two swimming pool areas (with loungers and a small bar) at either end of the camp.

Game drives are undertaken in custom designed Toyota game viewing vehicles seating up to four guests at a time in 3 rows of 3 seats. Guests are guided by a two person team of professional guide and tracker - a special feature of the Kwando Safaris wildlife experience. The two person team enables the guide to communicate points of interest and the complex interrelations that exist throughout the natural world, while the tracker ensures no sightings or tracks are missed.
The evening/night drives are a Kwando Safaris speciality. The drive starts in the late afternoon as the sun’s rays are dipping to the west and the day’s heat is declining. After a leisurely pause for the traditional sundowner, and as the African day is transformed into a soft colourful evening canvas, the night drive begins. The mystery unfolds as the creatures of the night, especially the predators, are revealed by spotlight, often unexpectedly.

The traditional dug out canoe is surely the definitive Okavango Delta experience. The complete stillness of an early morning, disturbed only by the sound of the water dripping from the ‘ngashe’ (wooden pole used to move the canoe), and the eerie call of the fish eagle echoing across the water, is a sublime experience. The mokoro was designed to move across areas with low water levels by the indigenous peoples who inhabited the Delta and who explored the waterways and floodplains in search of food. Today, these same mokoro provide an opportunity to glide through this varied and unique habitat using the traditional skills handed down through the generations

The boat experience is a soothing tonic, a contrast to the vigorous efforts of searching for mammals from a vehicle or on foot. Sit back and while away the hours, stopping to gaze at a multitude of spectacular birds and bathing elephant and enjoy the vistas of the river systems. However, don’t be surprised should the peace be shattered by the snort of a territorial hippo warning the boat of his presence! Double-decker boats are used to provide a better vantage point and offer a wonderful position to enjoy the waterways and their varied inhabitants.

Species that are targeted by sports fisherman are several tilapia (bream) species (including the olive bream or nembwe, red breasted tilapia, purple faced largemouth and three spot tilapia), sharp tooth catfish, African pike and the mighty Tiger fish.
The Okavango is recognised as an excellent fishing destination for both fly fishing and traditional spin fishing. It is a seasonal activity as government regulations do not allow fishing during January and February.

Walking in Africa's wild areas is the only way to truly appreciate the natural environment. While game viewing from a vehicle allows one to see more animals as you traverse much greater distances and get much closer to animals safely, there is nothing as awe inspiring and humbling as observing wild animals on foot. Many smaller species of plants and insects, tracks and signs are all easily missed when in a vehicle. The slow pace of the walk and interpretative skills of your guide will open your eyes to a new and fascinating world.
Game walks are not hikes; they are slow comfortable strolls meant to provide you with a chance to experience the wilderness at a natural pace. Any walk can be combined with a game drive or mokoro and the length of walk can be adjusted to suit your personal desires or level of fitness.

The Godikwe heronry begins to flourish from October / November months and becomes home to Yellow-billed storks, Marabou storks, Sacred ibises, Black-crowned night herons, African darters, Reed cormorants and egrets of all sizes who start their frantic phase of nest-building.
The sights, sounds and colours are remarkable! Water birds are a vital indicator of the health of a riverine ecosystem, and this heronry is a critical base for the laying, hatching and raising of thousands of birds in the Okavango Delta over the next few months.
