Amuka Lodge | Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Experience Africa as it was meant to be seen from Amuka Lodge, nestled in a pristine woodlands forest, in the heart of the world-renowned Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Amuka Lodge allows breathtaking encounters with Uganda’s only wild rhinoceros as well a wide array of birds and wildlife.

The comfortable accommodations afford all the luxury not expected in the African wilderness, with unfenced chalets that make the most of the bush environs. Amuka has an escapist feel of seclusion and when visitors are here, it is like nothing else exists in the world.

The main lodge, containing the restaurant, bar, walkways, and sun-deck, was almost entirely handcrafted using old, recovered mahogany beams and timber planks from an sawmill abandoned in Budongo Forest nearly 30 years ago. This gives the lodge a rustic and nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of a well-worn farmhouse.

Currently there are 10 units; four Deluxe Chalets, each with large bedroom, dressing rooms and bathroom - perfect for couples and small families. Two clustered units, each with three Standard Rooms, all with one bedroom, and bathroom. Each chalet is given the name for ‘rhino’ in one of Uganda’s forty local languages and constructed from hardwood timber and stone. All chalets are complete with large, personal verandas where visitors can lounge on safari chairs and take in the serenity of the surroundings. All chalets are tucked into the woodlands which provide complete privacy.

Semliki Safari Lodge | Semuliki National Park

Semliki is secluded and intimate. With a maximum of 18 guests we promise excellent service and attention to detail…and an unforgettable experience.

Our guests stay in golden-hued tents with gleaming hardwood floors. Staying under canvas is one of the most romantic and exciting things to do in on safari in Africa. You hear the sounds, you feel the wind, you smell the rain before it comes. But this isn’t roughing it either: the tents are protected by a thick thatch roof and feature en-suite bathrooms with running water, hot showers and flush toilets.

Pulled back from the brink of destruction, the Semliki Wildlife Reserve is healing very well under good guardianship, and mammal and bird species are making a healthy recovery. Semliki's position at the crossroads of Central and East Africa make it a fascinating location for wildlife viewing as virtually all the habitats are represented in one small reserve.

Probably the best place in Uganda to see the Shoebill

Kyambura Gorge Lodge | Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

The Chimpanzee and Wildlife Lodge

This renowned Kyambura Gorge Lodge, with entirely remodelled public areas and gardens, has been converted from a coffee store to create a breathtakingly beautiful space. The lodge is located on the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park with sweeping views of the rolling savanna, the distant mountains of the moon, and the sunken Kyambura Gorge.

The guest bandas have a afro-chic theme with the accent on local artifacts re-imagined in a new context. Each banda offers a unique view either across the savanna or the gorge. There are four new deluxe bandas and four standard bandas. A new spa and swimming pool was launched in 2019.

The lodge is the ideal location for tracking the lost chimps in the sunken forest of Kyambura Gorge nearby and seeing the amazing game in one of Africa’s most beautiful parks, centred around the waterway of the Kazinga Channel. The park has six hundred amazing bird species, the highest in an African park.

Guests can participate in the Kyambura Gorge Eco-tourism project, a series of community and conservation activities developed since 2009 to safeguard the Kyambura Gorge ecosystem.

Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge | Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Remote, beautiful and intimate, Clouds is a breathtaking lodge set high above the clouds at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Guests stay in individual stone cottages with large private sitting rooms complete with fireplace, overstuffed armchairs, and art commissioned from some of Uganda's best artists.

The main lodge feels like someplace else – soaring ceilings, massive exposed wooden beams, big picture windows with endless views of treetops, volcanoes and mountains. It feels like a ski chalet in the alps. Or a stone palace in the Rocky Mountains. But with the gentle and warm welcome, the quiet dedication of the personal butlers and the smiles on the faces of virtually all the staff, this can only be in Uganda.

And as a leading community conservation project built in partnership with the Africa Wildlife Foundation and the International Gorilla Conservation Programme, this lodge is truly benefiting both community development and habitat conservation.
