Savute Safari Lodge | Savuti - Chobe National Park
Located on the banks of the Savute channel near the Savuti Marsh, Savute Safari Lodge accommodates just twenty-four guests in twelve thatched chalets built of local timber. The chalets, which have been elegantly furnished in calm neutral tones to blend with the natural environment, feature expansive private decks, a combined bedroom and lounge area and en suite facilities.
Activities are organised around game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Many trips will incorporate a visit to the Savute Marsh to give you a chance to see the historic presence of the Savute Channel at the marsh against a backdrop of teeming wildlife. Guests can also enjoy a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills – a small hilly outcrop which forms a prominent landmark in the otherwise flat landscape.
Savute boasts the second-largest summer Zebra migration in Africa; its timing is determined by the rains, but usually occurs between November and December and again between February and April, when the Zebras move from the rivers in the north in search of the rain-ripe grasslands and full waterholes in the southwest of the park. The migration is always followed by large numbers of predators – the Zebra migration is a must for visitors.
Conservation Safari Company recommends Savute Safari Lodge as a luxury lodge with good hospitality and for its access to the Savute channel and marsh - game viewing can however be fickle just like the channel and water which comes and goes. Being in a national park means no off-road driving but the waterholes and general game viewing at the right time of the year can be spectacular.
Rates are inclusive of accommodation, scheduled activities and laundry service, all meals, refreshments, local spirits and wines, emergency medical evacuation insurance, national park fees and all government levies and taxes, airport transfers to/from scheduled/charter flights

Chobe Game Lodge | Chobe River Front
The only permanent game lodge situated within the famous Chobe National Park, Chobe Game Lodge is Botswana's premier venue for guests looking for a perfect base from which to explore the National Park and the Chobe River. The lodge has north African flavour with six comfortably furnished viewing decks, a riverside boma, two bars, six different lounges and four dining locations. The Lodge offers a choice of land or water-based activities and the most complete game experience in the Chobe National Park.
Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are conducted by professional guides in open-sided 4x4 vehicles to ensure maximum visibility of Chobe National Park’s scenery and wildlife, while, riverside game viewing is done from small and highly manoeuvrable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. [we don't recommend the large, booze cruise boats from the hotels in Kasane]
Chobe's diverse wildlife roams in abundance – it is home to the largest concentrations of elephant in Africa during the dry season. [June - November] These elephant herds, as well as vast herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope.
Conservation/Botswana Safari Company recommends Chobe Game Lodge as the premier lodge in the Chobe region, and the only lodge inside the national park. The dry season game viewing along the extensive floodplains is unique and spectacular. Having the boat station and boat viewing activities at your doorstep is a major advantage to appreciating the river environment. The lodge is large and more hotel like, the Moroccan styling isnt for everyone but it is best located to appreciate this park.

No Chobe safari is complete without experiencing the beauty of the Chobe River and its incredible wildlife by boat.
The riverboats are specifically designed to ensure each passenger can take in the magnificent Chobe views in complete comfort from anywhere on the boat. Owing to the flexibility in seating arrangements and the flat deck, the boats are ideal for keen wildlife photographers, with ample space for equipment and the freedom to photograph from any angle.
Unlike any other water-based activity in Botswana, the game viewing while on a river safari in Chobe is unsurpassed anywhere in Botswana. Elephants line the water’s edge, hippo congregate in lagoons, hundreds of antelope and giraffe make their way to the water and sightings of predators along the river banks are common.
All of the boats at Chobe Game Lodge are solar-electric powered boats – a clean and quiet way to enjoy a boat safari and another first for tourism in Africa.
Owing to the location of Chobe Game Lodge inside the Chobe National Park, early-morning game drives set off as soon as the park opens, giving you the best chance of tracking predators while they are still active. The afternoon drives depart the lodge in the late afternoon (the exact time is dependent on the season), only returning at park closure time after sunset, thus maximising the time you spend out in the park to enjoy those special sightings.
The drives follow the course of the Chobe River as your experienced guide interprets the bush signs and tracks in search of the resident wildlife. Elephant encounters are common and huge herds of buffalo abound. The ever-present impala and the majestic giraffe are both common residents, while sightings of the puku antelope are also on offer. Predators are plentiful in the northern region of the Chobe National Park, and excellent sightings of lion, wild dog and leopard are to be had.
The Chobe Game Lodge vehicles are open 4WD game viewers redesigned to make your trip comfortable and your viewing experience astonishing. Included in the fleet are several silent, CO2 emission-free electric vehicles designed to further enhance your Chobe safari.
Birding is spectacular with Schalows turaco, barred owlet and white-browed coucal resident in the gardens as well as rosythroated longclaw, western-banded snake-eagle and hooded vulture among a few of the 450 species of the Chobe region.
