The name Mokete means celebration or feast. It’s a place to feast on the unexplored and celebrate the untamed. Here the action never ends. This is a place to be awed by the majesty of Africa with an unrivalled diversity of wildlife.
To place you in the heart of the drama, we’ve forgone walls and added cantilevered canvas roofs that slide away, revealing never-ending stars. Accommodating just 18 guests in nine tents, pioneering Mokete provides one of the most promising possibilities of intimate encounters all year. Whether sharing a drink with elephants in the middle of the day, or hearing hyena calls in the dead of night, it’s a feast for the senses.
INSIDER’S TIP: Be sure to spend some time at the sunken hide, eye-level with the colossal feet of breeding herds of elephants.

Explore the Mababe Private Wilderness Area on twice daily game drives, or if guests prefer, one long game drive. Highlights include the extraordinary wildlife that are drawn to the Mababe marsh; an incredible array of birds, the super herds of zebra and buffalo and the predators that follow, often hunting in broad daylight.
Walking in the wild with knowledgeable guides is a wonderful, authentic way of connecting to nature. Encounter the smaller creatures, those details of Africa missed when travelling by vehicle.
Spend an afternoon secretly observing wildlife come and go, from the safety of our sunken hide. Bring binoculars, bird books and cameras and wait for the wildlife to arrive.
In Mababe Village, learn about the culture of the area; hear stories told by village elders, learn to track the way the locals have done for generations. Try your hand at another ancient tradition of the region, basket-weaving, or join in on a friendly soccer match.

Kwetsani Camp | Okavango Delta

The Kwetsani Family Suite is ideal for families or close friends who want to enjoy the safari experience together while still having plenty of personal space. Essentially designed as two standard suites connected by a shared lounge, it offers the perfect balance of privacy and togetherness.
Each bedroom can be configured with either two three-quarter beds or as a double, making the suite flexible for different family or group requirements. Both bedrooms have their own private en-suite bathrooms, each with an indoor shower, outdoor shower and bath.
The shared lounge provides a comfortable central space for relaxing between activities, while each suite includes thoughtful in-room comforts such as a mini-bar fridge, bean-to-cup coffee machine and writing desk. Generous front deck areas open onto sweeping floodplain views, inviting guests to slow down and enjoy the wilderness setting.
With spacious proportions, elevated walkways, contemporary interiors and the same refined finish as the rest of the rebuilt camp, the Family Suite is a wonderful option for comfort, connection and convenience in one of the Okavango Delta’s most scenic settings.

The Kwetsani Standard Suite combines the romance of an elevated safari suite with the comfort and refinement of the rebuilt camp. Beautifully crafted in canvas, wood and glass, each suite is positioned to maximise sweeping views across the surrounding floodplains.
The bedroom can be configured with either two twin beds or as a double, making it suitable for couples, friends or solo travellers. Each suite includes a sunken lounge, writing desk, mini-bar fridge and bean-to-cup coffee machine, creating a comfortable space to relax between activities.

Morning and afternoon game drives are offered in open 4x4 Land Rovers, each accommodating a maximum of seven people, allowing each guest a ‘window’ seat. In times of high water guests are transferred by boat to game drive areas.
Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals you wouldn’t see during normal daytime drives. Porcupine, aardwolf, serval, large spotted genet and lesser bushbaby are just some of these.
Step into the wilderness on foot and experience the Jao Reserve from an entirely different perspective. Guided nature walks offer the opportunity to slow down and appreciate the smaller details of the bush, from animal tracks and plants to insects, birds and the signs left behind by passing wildlife.
Walks may take place on Hunda Island, where the drier months can attract a variety of species and create rewarding opportunities for wildlife viewing. Led by an experienced walking guide, each excursion is tailored to conditions and the interests and abilities of the guests.
Guided nature walks are seasonal and subject to weather, terrain, wildlife activity and the availability of a suitably qualified walking guide. Advance booking is essential. Participation is subject to the guide’s discretion and applicable age restrictions.
There is no better way of viewing the Delta and its wildlife than by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe), often revealing the smaller critters of the Okavango Delta and fascinating waterbirds of the region. In summer, guests are driven to the water for this activity.
Boating is another idyllic form or water wildlife viewing often yielding fabulous sightings of hippo and crocodile and maybe even the elusive sitatunga.
Try your hand at seasonal catch-and-release fishing in the waterways surrounding Kwetsani Camp. The Delta supports several freshwater species, and the experience offers a relaxed way to enjoy the channels and floodplains from the water.
A limited selection of basic fishing equipment is available at camp for guests’ use.
Fishing is seasonal and subject to water levels, weather conditions and operational feasibility. In accordance with Botswana’s annual fishing closure, fishing is not permitted during January and February to protect breeding fish populations.
The Jao Concession has outstanding birding opportunities. With water and land activities, opportunities to grow your list are excellent. Wattled cranes, slaty egrets, rosy-throated longclaws, Pel’s fishing-owls and African skimmers are some of the ‘specials,’ while more common coppery-tailed coucals and pygmy goose are also seen.
During periods of high water, guests may travel by boat from Kwetsani Camp to Hunda Island for game drives across one of the Jao Reserve’s most productive wildlife areas. Full-day excursions may include a picnic in the wilderness, allowing more time to explore the island’s varied habitats and follow wildlife movements at a relaxed pace.
Hunda Island is particularly renowned for exciting predator activity and rewarding game viewing, with each visit shaped by the season, water levels and natural wildlife movements.

Wilderness Savuti | Linyanti Concession
Savuti Camp is set deep in the wilderness on the productive Savute Channel – a refuge for a variety of wildlife. For many years the channel was dry, before the waters returned in 2008 and abundant game congregated around and adapted to their new surroundings. As part of a natural cycle, the channel is dry once more, resulting in a rich feeding ground and corridor between the surrounding mopane woodlands for both plains game and predators. Savuti is about 17 kilometres “downstream” from the Zibadianja Lagoon – the source of the Channel. Accommodation comprises seven large en-suite canvas-and-thatch rooms (including a family unit) that are raised off the ground and face onto the Savute Channel. From the thatched dining area, a pool and large viewing area with fire deck extend outwards on raised wooden decks. Activities on offer are day and night game drives, nature walks with a guide (depending on qualified guide availability) and boating (water levels permitting). The log-pile hide, close to camp, and the sunken hide offer unique ways of watching wildlife at the water's edge. Two Star Beds – Southern Cross and Orion – approximately 20 minutes from camp, are a magical, unique way for guests to experience the African bush.

Savuti’s tented guest rooms are set on elevated wooden decks overlooking the famed ‘stolen river’ and its ever-changing wildlife parade. Well appointed, with every creature comfort, the rooms are decorated with locally sourced African artefacts that blend seamlessly into the wild environment.
There is one spacious family unit consisting of two bedrooms, each with their own en-suite facilities, separate entrance and a shared outdoor deck.

Morning and afternoon game drives reveal the rich wildlife of the area where predators and elephant are often the highlight. Plains game and the diverse birdlife also offer fantastic sightings. On request and subject to the availability of a qualified walking guide, nature walks with skilled, armed guides are wonderful ways of getting close to nature and observing the smaller details you miss when travelling by vehicle.
In times when the water has receded, the camp's log-pile hide is a perfect place to spend your afternoon siesta hours. Elephant are often the star attraction here: either big elephant feet will obstruct your view, or watch out for sprays of water propelled from their trunks!
Overlooking the Savuti Channel and facing west across the iconic Zibadianja Lagoon, this daytime excursion offers exceptional opportunities to view and photograph wildlife. From its elevated vantage point, guests enjoy an authentic and immersive perspective of the African bush in one of the Linyanti's most dynamic settings.
Reimagined as an exclusive overnight experience set apart from the main camp, the Savuti Star Bed is being redesigned to deepen guests' connection with the wild. The new concept will feature two open-air areas: one elevated deck used for the Star Bed experience, and a second, more grounded deck designated for dining, wildlife viewing, and stargazing.
Currently undergoing restoration, the site is expected to reopen in due course, with a provisional return anticipated in November 2026. More news to follow.

Exploring the waters by boat can be undertaken in the morning, during midday, or as an afternoon activity. Note that boating is a seasonal activity, dependent on water levels.
With the Linyanti Concession being an internationally recognised Important Bird Area (IBA), birding is understandably outstanding at Savuti Camp, from slaty egret in the water to kori bustard in the dry areas.
