The day starts as dawn breaks over the African bushveld. After an early morning wake-up call, coffee, tea and rusks are served on the main deck. Shortly after, depart in an open Land Cruiser with experienced Guides and Trackers who will share their extensive knowledge of the bush. These drives are undertaken at times best suited for game viewing which varies depending on the season but typically starts early morning. Where applicable you may be invited out of the vehicle to see tracks, examine certain plants and follow spoor.

The afternoon game drive is preceded by high tea and extends into the evening to view seldom seen nocturnal species by torchlight.

After a sumptuous Breakfast is served either back at the camp or in the riverbed or bush, guests are offered walks to suit their interests and fitness levels and are accompanied by an armed ranger and tracker.

Walks allow guests a better chance to see some of the smaller creatures of the bush as well as an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna of the region, and to have a chance to follow tracks in more detail.

One-hour long flight over the scenic, Lowveld section of the Blyde River. As the sun rises, the landscape, the vegetation and, if you're lucky, some wildlife will provide photo opportunities. Game spotting cannot be guaranteed but on most flights, we see plains game such as giraffe and wildebeest. Terms & Conditions apply - additional cost.

Thornybush Game Lodge welcomes children of all ages. Children under the age of 12 receive a special Backpack on arrival and are invited to take part in the many activities available. Activities and times will be discussed with parents upon arrival. The Thornybush Amani Spa also offers children's treatments at an additional cost.

Inyati Game Lodge provides the opportunity for fishing as an additional activity to enjoy during the intervals between game drives. We supply all the necessary fishing equipment for our guests.

Fishing takes place in the tranquil setting of the Sand River and at the causeway. Ensuring the safety of our guests is our top priority, and they are always accompanied by a trained and armed ranger or tracker during their fishing excursions.

The Sand River boasts an impressive variety of fish species, with over 37 different types inhabiting its waters. Among the most commonly encountered species are the Sharp-tooth Catfish (Barbel), Mozambique Tilapia (Bream), Squeakers, Tigerfish, Smallmouth Yellowfish, and Mudfish.

Apart from the sheer relaxation of fishing, it offers a splendid way to immerse oneself in the natural surroundings. While casting your line, you can listen to the melodic chirping of various bird species or the distant calls of hippos, truly connecting with the bush in a peaceful and serene manner.

A definite highlight for nature enthusiasts is the bush walk experience offered at Inyati Game Lodge. This opportunity allows guests to immerse themselves in the wilderness, providing an up-close encounter with the smaller inhabitants of the bush, such as birds, insects, and butterflies.

Absorb the splendour of being on the mighty Zambezi River and relive the historical journey taken by David Livingstone with a cruise aboard one of the Ra-Ikane luxury boats.

A variety of cruises are offered, including breakfast, lunch and sundowner cruises, as well as private charter cruises. Each Ra-Ikane boat has its own crew, made up of a friendly and knowledgeable captain, guide and waiter to ensure that you can sit back and enjoy the ride.
