Hlosi Game Lodge is a tranquil grassland retreat offering rich game-viewing and luxurious accommodation for the whole family. Lying along a gentle curve of a hill above the river plain, our suites offer wide-open views with four-star comforts. The main lodge includes elegant lounge and dining areas, and a splendid bar overlooking the swimming pool and waterhole.
Our fenced camp is perfect for families with small children, or for those who aren't comfortable with a chance-meeting with wild animals. Watch breathlessly from the privacy of your own viewing deck or luxurious deep-soaking tub at the array of wildlife and bird life from a safe and comfortable distance.
With only six suites and eight luxury tents it is our privilege to create intimate, personal game-viewing experiences for our guests and to share our love for conservation, food and life. The Luxury 2 Bedroom Suite has two bedrooms both en-suite, with a family lounge separating them with doors opening up onto a beautiful deck. The main suite has a king-size bed with both an indoor and outdoor shower as well as a deep-soaking tub. The second bedroom has twin beds with an indoor shower.
Situated along a wooden walkway, our two suites provide luxury accommodation at Hlosi Game Lodge. The two-bedroom suites each have their own private decks, overlooking the vast plains below the lodge, and the perfect spot for families to gather and spend some quality time. Each bedroom is en-suite, with a shower and a deep-soaking tub. The main en-suite is fitted with an outdoor shower as an extra option.
Mosquito nets are provided in all suites. The suite’s lounge is the perfect place to relax after a family game drive, with teas & coffee facilities and a minibar stocked with an array of selected beverages. The two-bedroom suites are a superb accommodation option for families or for friends traveling together.
The Luxury Family Safari Tent has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed while the second has twin beds. A full en-suite bathroom joins the rooms. The tent is built on a raised wooden platform with three viewing decks offering a 180-degree viewing experience.
Hlosi’s Luxury Family Tents offer families a memorable tented safari experience without compromising on luxury or comfort. Our 2-bedroom tents have all the modern conveniences, including the full en-suite bathroom (shared between rooms), air conditioners, electric blankets and minibar. At the same time, our guests can experience the wonder of being in a tent in the African bush, and feel the immediacy of the surrounding landscape. The tour will show you how a modern day working commercial farm operates.
Our tour guide, Koos, starts by telling you the fascinating story of how Oudtshoorn owes its history to the ostrich. Indeed the ostrich feather started it all … and the rest (as they say)… is history!
Koos, will take you for a drive around the farm to show you the adult ostriches. You will get a chance to meet the curious and friendly, young ostriches in the farm paddocks.
He then will show you how we breed the chicks. You will see how we use advanced farming methods to care for the eggs and provide the right environment for them to hatch into healthy young birds. Once hatched, our chicks then go into the nursery for their upbringing. As they grow, so they move into bigger paddocks along with all the other chicks they bonded with in the nursery.
