The Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge is situated in a vlei among the dunes on the western edge of the Kalahari, where the expansive Karoo desert meets the first red dunes of the Kalahari desert. This intimate lodge features uniquely and lovingly designed suites, each offering ample space and privacy. Fish River Lodge in southern Namibia is the only lodge perched directly on the rim of the Fish River Canyon offering guests breathtaking views of the canyon from sunrise to sunset.

The same owners and developers of Kalahari Bush Breaks Lodge, have the privilege to share their dream come true of an exclusive destination on the edge of the Namib Desert, which started some 14 years ago. You are invited to indulge in the pleasure and passion for friendly service in a relaxed ambiance.
The lodge is situated on the northern periphery of the Spitzkoppe inselberg, between huge granite boulders, which were created more than 150 million years ago, with breath-taking views onto the Brandberg and Erongo Mountains. The stylish, private accommodation consists of 15 spacious, tastefully furnished chalets, each with a private bathroom and outside viewing deck, which connects the guest with the vast stretches of untouched sand and boulders beyond.
Situated on the inland edge of the Namib Desert, the climate of the Spitzkoppe Conservation Area is arid, with a mean annual rainfall of 50mm and a high evaporation rate of 3200mm per annum. Most rainfall occurs between January and April, and with the granite outcrops being impermeable, rainfall-runoff collects at the foot of the outcrops creating unique micro-habitats for woody plants to grow in an otherwise arid area.

The main building is surrounded by large, ancient mopane trees in a wild, but park-like setting. Upon entering the lobby with the bar and spacious seating areas, the eye is drawn through the open building to the vast savannah, where often enough the first animals can be spotted right then. The large infinity pool also offers fantastic views of the open plain in front of the lodge and the two waterholes. The best spot to enjoy the sunset with a drink of your choice. After that we will treat you to a delicious 5-course dinner in our restaurant.
Our spacious chalets have been integrated into nature with loving care. They are placed so far apart and aligned so cleverly, that there is no sign of a neighbor. As a result, the rooms offer a high degree of privacy and unobstructed views of the savannah. The ingredients for a relaxed sojourn are 75 m² of living space, tasteful natural furnishings and colors, air conditioning and Wi-Fi in the room, minibar, tea and coffee station, and above all the incredible view. Great attention to detail rounds off the experience.
