Shindzela Tented Safari Camp | Timbavati Private Nature Reserve
Shindzela, named after the honey badger in the Shangaan language, is an unfenced tented camp within the world-renowned Timbavati Private Game Reserve forming part of the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa. Our safari style tents are situated under thatch (grass roof) structures and can be made up in either twin or double-bedded accommodation. Enjoy your morning coffee on your wooden deck or freshen up in your semi open en-suite bathroom (shower, W.C. and hand-basin)
We strive to offer an affordable wildlife safari during which you can explore the African wilderness on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles (don’t forget your sunscreen) and/or on foot during a walking safari. Our safari activities are conducted by professional, knowledgeable and fully qualified guides. The camp can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests in total, (8 safari tents) where you will be treated with our warm South African hospitality, a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy and soak up the true African wilderness,
items of personal nature.

Shindzela offers walking trails of about 2.5-3 hours in the morning instead of doing a game drive. Each walking trail is lead by a qualified lead and back up trails guide. The walking safaris are mainly focused on nature as a whole, focusing on fauna and flora as well as animal tracks, insects, bird life and the occasional encounter with one of the Big five. No children under the age of 16 years are allowed on these trails.
Shindzela offers morning and afternoon/evening game drives of about 3-3.5 hours. Shindzela conducts their safaris in 4x4 Landrover vehicles (seating 8 guests per vehicle max) and guests are taken out by professional qualified field guides. Prior to each safari activity guests are given a thorough safety briefing before embarking on their safari adventure.

Chisomo Safari Camp | Karongwe Private Game Reserve
Chisomo Safari Camp (which means “blessings”) combines the warmth and vibrancy of a Safari,
exuding a true feeling of being in a bygone era in the Africa wilderness.
Situated under the shade of towering knob thorns and Jackleberry trees, the camp accommodates
44 guests in luxury tented suites. Beautifully decorated, spacious lounges offer guests the perfect
opportunity to relax and absorb the splendid surroundings.
Chisomo Safari Camp offers ambrosial Pan African meals in the most spectacular surroundings,

A walk with Karongwe Private Game Reserve anti-poaching team is like taking a step into a completely different world. This is not just a walk through the bush. You walk through the Bush while being aware of not just wild animals but also of the so called "kill Zones" possible ämbush zones" and "escape routes". You become aware of where possible poacher might be waiting for darkness you also become aware of where to walk and where not to, you really become exposed to how real this war for conservation really is.
