Pioneers Victoria Falls is situated in the quiet suburbs of Victoria Falls’ residential area, 3.5 kilometres from the Falls.

Pioneers offers 50 elegant en-suite rooms all designed to embrace the Zimbabwean Pioneer era, with private verandas overlooking the garden and pool. All rooms at Pioneers are air conditioned and have free limited WiFi. The lodge has four family rooms making it ideal for families.

At the heart of the lodge is a snug lounge, an indoor and outdoor dining area, curio shop, as well as a terrace opening onto the pool and garden area.

In the northern reaches of Hwange National Park, Deteema Springs Camp enjoys an idyllic setting on the verge of Deteema Springs’ scenic waters and landscapes. Game is especially abundant during the dry season, when the natural springs are a vital water source. During this time a vast array of wildlife visit the springs directly in front of the camp.

Deteema Springs Camp has eight safari tents, one of which is a family room, all with on-suite bathroom facilities. Each room also boasts a fan to keep guests comfortable during the hot summer months. Rooms are connected to the main areas by raised walkways, meandering between the natural rocks and indigenous trees.

The communal main area consists of a dining area and lounge, as well as a swimming pool.

Game drives provide the opportunity to seek out the great diversity of life in the area. The hilly terrain, along with numerous seeps and springs, make the Deteema Springs environment a sought-after walking safari location. Also, in close proximity to the camp is Deteema Dam, which attracts wildlife ranging from Hwange’s famed large elephant herds through to predators, antelope, smaller game and plentiful birdlife.

This area is famous for its large concentrations of animals, including elephant. Due to the existence of year round water seeps, this area is ideal for game drives, producing incredible wildlife sightings.

Guide dependent walking safaris

Walking safaris are also conducted generally in the morning with armed guides. The walks are leisurely and time is taken to observe the smaller things in the bush that one normally misses when driving. Walking is weather dependent, or dependent on the condition of the terrain.

With over 420 species recorded Hwange National Park is a birding hotspot. The park is well known for its huge variety of raptors, grassland birds are well represented as well. From November to April yearly the park is flooded with migratory birds from Europe and northern Africa.

Dining Area

Our dining area tent is located with perfect views of passing elephant or grazing antelope infront of the camp. Guests can either dine individually or with the other guests - which we like to encourage as guests can share stories of their day in the bush.

Situated on the southern part of Mana Pools National Park, Kavinga Safari Camp is set on a cliff overlooking the Ruckomechi riverbed. Just below is a wildlife frequented pan with a hide at its edge allowing incredible close up photographic opportunities.
      
Kavinga Safari Camp accommodates guests in 7 comfortable tents. All tents are en-suite with private verandas on raised platforms. The tents are facing east with a view of the magnificent Zambezi Valley. The lodge offers a pool with a view where guests can cool down while watching elephants come to drink at the busy waterhole. 

The central dining and lounge area have two decks with views of the dry riverbed and the waterhole below. The camp also has a firepit to relax and stargaze at night.

The area may showcase elephant, lions, wild dog and leopards, especially in the winter when the game concentrates along the river.

Raised tented chalets

Each tent has been designed with an emphasis on privacy and is surrounded by insect repellent gauze, allowing the air to circulate and contributing to maximum coolness. Inside each tent are 2 ¾ comfortable beds and an ensuite bathroom with a dressing area. In front, a verandah falls in line with the edge of the cliff giving a feeling of infinite space.

Vundu Camp is situated in the heart of the Mana Pools National Park along the banks of the great Zambezi River. The camp itself is nestled amongst a grove of beautiful riverine forest, including trees such as huge old Zambezi figs, ebony’s, rain trees, wild mangoes and tamarinds.

The camp comprises the main lodge area and accommodation is in chalets, canvas under thatch, of which there are seven. One is a family room with four beds and one is a honeymoon suite, the others are large spacious rooms with twin beds. There is a beautiful pan behind the camp with a tree stand for sitting, relaxing and watching the game come down to drink. All the rooms and the main lodge have a view of the Zambezi River.

Vundu Camp is suited to both those looking for that extra bit of adventure or to those who want a more relaxing time. Activities on offer are game drives, walking and canoeing.

Vundu Camp Chalet Family Room Chalet

Vundu Camp has eight large tented chalets. Outside the front of each is a private seating area with canvas chairs; inside, large wooden beams support a high thatched roof with canvas walls and shade-mesh windows. The chalets are simple in design, clean and comfortable. All have very secure mosquito nets covering each twin or double bed, polished concrete floors scattered with rugs, and free-standing fans. Comfortable wicker chairs, with cushions, and a low table provide a small lounge area, and a shelving unit supplies storage space.

Each chalet has an open-air en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, hot and cold shower and decorative pottery washbasins made by Desiree, also with hot and cold running water. The bathrooms are spacious and canvas walls provide a great deal of privacy.

Mana Pools National Park is just over 200 square kilometres and life here is governed by the rhythm of its seasons. During a game drive, you will have a chance to see a variety of terrain and wildlife - an ever-changing feast for the eyes, and food for the soul! We also offer night game drives within our own private Vundu concession.

Vehicles are open-aired, which allow for comfortable photography and game viewing. Private vehicles can be arranged when making your booking.

One of the best ways to see Mana Pools is not by a vehicle as you would assume, but by taking a walk on the wide side instead with a walking safari.

It’s the slow and natural pace of a walk that connects you to the ground; it’s the sounds of the bush as you pause and listen; it’s the ability to stop at a moment’s notice and look at a footprint and decide what animal left it there and where it was heading. It also enables a photographer the opportunity for some incredible close encounters with rare animals that haven’t been scared away by the sound of vehicles.

Canoeing down the Zambezi River offers a wonderful rare opportunity to experience game viewing from a different perspective. A truly memorable chance to slow down, enjoy the wide-open spaces of Mana Pools and appreciate the beauty of the wildlife that lives there. Our guests often comment canoeing is one of their most favourite activities with us.

Mana Pools is one of a kind. It has a distinctive landscape of floodplains, acacia forests, islands, pans and pools on the south banks of the Zambezi River. Mana means "four" in Shona - the local dialect in Zimbabwe - for the four permanent pools in the Lower Zambezi Valley.

Game viewing is, of course, one of the main reasons for visiting this paradise - often termed as Magical Mana for good reason. Hippos splashing and snort in the rivers, elephants stand on their hind legs to reach branches, zebra and large herds of buffalo drink at waterholes and predators are many - leopard, lion and of course Africa's most efficient hunters - the painted wolf. Mana Pools is home to the famous painted wolf packs of the BBC Earth Dynasties Painted Wolf series, on which Nick Murray was the lead guide. A truly extraordinary destination with plentiful game viewing every day!

With almost 400 bird species recorded, Mana Pools is any birder's dream destination. The range of habitats includes woodland, riverine and savannah. There are many predatory birds, as well as an abundance of waterbirds that can be found along the shore of the Zambezi River.

Fishing on the Zambezi River is fun! You can look forward to catching chessa, tilapia, catfish and nkupi. Of course, there is the legendary Tiger Fish too - it is an excellent sports fish that puts up a great fight and makes for memorable stories if you are lucky enough to land one. We have a catch and release policy.
