Wilderness Little Kulala | Sossusvlei

16 Sep 2021 - 19 Sep 2021

Wilderness Little Kulala is the closest luxury desert retreat to the famous, seen-from-space Sossusvlei dunes. Guests enjoy exclusive private concession access and the camp’s location makes early morning dune visits (to see Sossusvlei at its best) very easy.

Eleven luxury desert suites expanded to offer improved airflow, each have a private plunge pool, private rooftop area for sundowners, "African tapas" and other rooftop dinners or stargazing, a signature sleep-out experience on the bottom deck of each accommodation to allow for easy access during the night, luxury fittings, as well as indoor and outdoor showers. In terms of colour and form, Wilderness Little Kulala blends seamlessly into the desert landscape with interiors reflecting the environment. Activities make the most of the solitude and stark beauty of the Namib Desert, with nature drives and guided walks revealing the majesty and mystery of the Namib Sand Sea.

INSIDER'S TIP: Experience the desert from new heights … a hot air balloon excursion provides awe-inspiring views of the dramatic scenery below.

Hoanib Valley Camp | Hoanib River

19 Sep 2021 - 22 Sep 2021

Located in one of the most beautiful areas of Namibia, the camp and its surrounds are truly breathtaking with many visitors feeling time spent here is a life affirming experience. The north western area, Kaokoland, is identified by its vast open desert wilderness, towering dunes and swathes of rocky mountains. Tucked into the backdrop are six guest tents exuding a modern safari style that reflects their surrounds in the furnishing and design.

Your days are spent exploring this spectacular area, understanding its unique geology, wildlife and culture. Home to one of the last great nomadic tribes, the iconic Himba, as well as the identifiable Herero, there is plenty of opportunity for cultural interaction. The Giraffe Conservation Foundation, with whom this is a joint venture, add a wealth of specialist knowledge to your morning and afternoon drives, searching for the desert adapted elephant, giraffe, lion, black rhino and mountain zebra. Alternatively there are few better places to spend restful time contemplating the beauty around you than from the privacy of your veranda before enjoying exceptional hosting and dining.

Wilderness Damaraland Camp | Twyfelfontein

22 Sep 2021 - 24 Sep 2021

The Huab River Valley lies in one of the best wilderness areas in Namibia, offering endless vistas of plains, valleys and mountains. Wilderness Damaraland Camp is run in partnership with the Torra Conservancy and visits to the local farmstead reveal the fruits of this very positive relationship.

Each of the ten spacious en-suite, adobe-style thatched accommodations (including a family unit) has a large private viewing deck. New technology and ancient knowledge makes for an ultra-light footprint; nature drives and guided walks offer sights of desert-adapted wildlife, ancient rock-art and striking geological formations. Astonishing night skies round out each day’s experiences.
