Puku Ridge Camp | South Luangwa National Park

Puku Ridge Camp, named after the Puku antelope that graze the floodplains in its vicinity, is perched high on an escarpment in a remote part of the South Luangwa.  The camp is well secluded, blending in beautifully with its natural surroundings, overlooking a wildlife-rich floodplain and waterhole where there’s seemingly always something to see, on one of the South Luangwa National Park’s prime sites.

Unique in design, the feature rich (think starbed, private plunge pool - even custom built, near-silent airconditioning for respite from the hottest months) Puku Ridge is being completely rebuilt yet with a lighter footprint. The camp will be carbon neutral and will contribute to the existing conservation, education and social charities already operating effectively in the area.

We believe that the new Puku Ridge will be that perfect blend of wilderness, luxury and responsibility for the location. Although these images are computer generated they present quite a realistic picture of how the tents will look. Elements from the Luangwa bush camps of old have been combined with traditional village life; and authentic, local art works complement crucial creature comforts, making for one of the most appealing and welcome safari camp launches for many years.

The Luangwa Valley "home of the Leopard" and its spectacular wildlife, including the endemic Thornicroft's giraffe, of course need no introduction and we are simply delighted to be bringing our own blend of safari and hospitality to this amazing National Park. The region is abundant with elephants, lions, wild dogs, buffalos, hippos, wildebeests and antelopes – many of which will be easily spotted as you lounge on your balcony or eat dinner. This stunning park can also be explored on foot with park rangers and tracking guides, offering a chance to see some of the more elusive animals, such as leopards, the genet cats, and honey badgers. Sunset is a perfect time to enjoy a cocktail in the bush, or on the banks of the Luangwa River watching a hippo swimming party.

Old Mondoro Camp | Lower Zambezi

Old Mondoro is set in a grove of Acacia trees that tower above the massive elephant bulls that seem to be constantly feeding on them. On the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park some 35 km downstream from Chiawa Camp this is a beautiful and remote site overlooking a maze of hippo-inhabited islands and channels. With only 5 rooms, 10 beds, Old Mondoro is the Lower Zambezi’s most intimate and private safari camp.

Old Mondoro's setting is exquisite, one of the few safari camps with views in all directions, from one's chair - to the south the spectacular Zambezi river and its islands sprinkled with wildlife, swivel around to face north and see beautiful woodland full of towering trees dwarfing the impalas, waterbuck, buffalo and elephants. A fun addition is Old Mondoro's outdoor "loo with a view" overlooking the Zambezi and its wildlife.

If you wish to be truly immersed in nature but with all the comforts then look no further than Old Mondoro.
