Quivertree Forest Rest Camp is situated on Gariganus farm, just 3 km northeast of Keetmanshoop and offers tourists comfortable accommodation amid a pristine Namibian landscape. On the farm, visitors can explore the ancient and famous Quivertree Forest and the dolerite rock formations of the Giants Playground at their leisure. Desert Camp is situated just 5 km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon in the Namib Nauklauft Park. Nestled under centuries old camel thorn trees, Desert Camp offers unsurpassed views over the Desert landscapes and surrounding mountains - An absolute must for the nature lover and photographer!

The 28 affordable self-catering accommodation units are equipped with an en-suite bathroom, shaded veranda with a fitted kitchenette, barbeque, power points and an adjacent parking area. Each air-conditioned room features twin beds and a fold-out sleeper couch to accommodate 2 small children (under 12) free of charge when sharing with 2 full paying adults. Utility boxes with most utensils needed are available at reception and fresh food supplies can be ordered daily.

Facilities at the main building include a fully stocked and serviced bar with big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool and 2 communal bomas with cooking and wash up facilities which are perfect for groups travelling together.

Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of exciting Desert activities to explore the area.

A fully stocked shop, fuel and an Internet café is available at the Sossus Oasis Service Station.

Self-Catering units

The 28 individual self-catering accommodation units at Desert Camp are uniquely designed to blend in perfectly with the natural surrounding environment.

Each spacious air-conditioned bedroom feature twin beds, space for suitcases and a fold-out sleeper couch where two small children under the age of 12 years can be accommodated free of charge when sharing the room with two full paying adults. Please enquire with your booking to ensure preparations are made as required.

The en-suite bathroom comprises of wash basin with large mirror and vanity space, shelves and hanging space, an electronic safe as well as a separate toilet and spacious walk in shower.

On the outside the patio features a fitted kitchenette with wash up area, under counter fridge and 2-plate hob that is enclosed with a zip-up canvas cover. The barbeque facility and wooden bench for seating is ideally situated to enjoy the incredible views over the Desert landscapes and surrounding Naukluft mountains. Utility boxes with most utensils needed for self-catering are available at reception and fresh food supplies can be ordered daily.

Guests at Desert Camp who wish to not cook for themselves, can make use of our nearby Sossusvlei Lodge Restaurant which is about 5 minutes travel down the road towards the Namib Naukluft Park's entrance.

Sossusvlei Lodge is well known for sensational cuisine and many guests have praised especially the delectable buffet dinner experience.

The al fresco terrace offers magnificent views over Elim Dune and of the floodlit waterhole where you can watch the passing parade of oryx, springbok, jackal, ground squirrel and hyena, whilst enjoying exquisite food and wine.

Tarentaal Guest Farm is situated 35km from the Okaukuejo gate at Etosha National Park.

We love it when our guests feel at home!

We have 6 outside guest rooms, twin beds and one room with a double bed with an extra bed for a child. Each room has a private bathroom and is uniquely decorated.

Room 7 is a family unit, with 2 rooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin bed, sharing a bathroom with a tub.
