A private bush dinner is perfect for honeymooners or anyone who wants to experience more than the usual privacy. A table, away from the main dining mess tent is set up surrounded by trees and bushes, lanterns are placed to add to the romantic set-up, just for you and your partner. Your personal waiter will serve you a 4-course delicious barbecued style meal with a bottle of wine, red or white, as well as unlimited soft drinks available with compliments of the house.
A wonderful way to experience the magnificent landscape and amazing wildlife from a different perspective. A true highlight of every Safari in East Africa! We are glad to book and organize a memorable Balloon Safari with the most professional Balloon Company for you. The Balloon crew will pick you up as early as 5am in the morning for a drive to the starting point of the Balloon ride. Enjoy a one-hour ride above the amazing Savanna with your experienced Balloon Pilot. A sumptuous Champagne breakfast awaits you upon landing to crown the memorable experience. Children under 8 years, or a height below 1.25 meters, are not permitted for safety reasons.
Custom-built 4x4 safari vehicles are stationed at the camp and can be booked during your stay for exclusive use, with an experienced professional Safari guide. All our guides are certified by the
Kenya Professional Guides Association and are very knowledgeable on the flora & fauna of the Mara.
Have you ever thought of exploring the Afri-can bush on foot? Our Walking Team (accompanied by an armed ranger) will be happy to guide you through this walking safari outside the reserve. Look out for the small five, plants, learn how to identify animal tracks, and differentiate the droppings of Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, and other wildlife. Take the challenge a notch higher and identify the bones and skeletons you may come across whilst enjoying the endless panoramic view of the savanna grasslands ahead. Walks are available both in the morning and afternoon. The duration is between 2-3 hours (or to your liking also shorter)
During your afternoon or evening game drive you will discover a table & camping chairs set up at the nearby river/hippo pools. This is a private arrangement, especially for you! Choose your sundowner from a selection of spirits, house wine, beer, and soft drinks. Get spoilt with homemade canapés while watching the sun go down over African plains and hippos huddle right in front of you… listen to the sounds of the night set in.
We are delighted to introduce our bush breakfasts. After your early morning game drive, you are taken to a scenic location, where the chef and his team await you, ready to prepare your meal - the way you like it. From freshly squeezed juices to a full English breakfast, accompanied by homemade muffins and breads, a fresh fruit platter, or a breakfast parfait, you start your day with a nice hot meal. Relax in your safari chair, whilst sipping your hot beverage, with fabulous views of the Mara Plains and the animals grazing in front of you. This is a wonderful way to end your morning game drive. The breakfast is from 8.00 am to 9.30 am.
Enjoy a visit to a traditional Maasai Village and discover their “way of life” as it was a hundred years ago and still is today. The Maasai are an old nomadic tribe that lives in harmony with nature and is one of the few remaining tribes in Kenya that tends to hold on to their traditions.
Your guide will transfer you to/from the village. Please note that we support the local community in the area with this village visit as most proceeds will go to them directly. Ask the Manager for more information and how to book.
As part of Soroi Mara Bush Camp's commitment to conservation and sustainability, we are actively fighting deforestation in the Mara ecosystem. We invite guests to take a hands-on approach and participate in this activity, which is suitable for young and old. The cost is for the purchasing of endemic trees.
The Ol Malaika Home Is a safe haven for girls under the age of 12 years of age, all the way down to newborns, that have endured trauma in their lives. The Trust not only provides a safe and loving home where they can find healing but also enable them to get their education. On weekends and holidays, you can visit the home and spend time with the girls, listen to them sing and dance, participate in a typical "day of the child" where you might wash clothes in the river, make chapatis, drink some tea made over the fire in their traditional manyatta or simply allow them to teach you how to make a beaded bracelet to take home. On weekdays when they are in school, you can visit the home and meet the staff, play or feed the babies, hear about the girl's stories, and possibly sample some fresh fruit or vegetable from their garden.
An exciting adventure awaits the young ones at Mara Bush Camp with various activities conducted by our Maasai guide and our Camp Manager. The children will have a rare opportunity to learn the Maasai ways of life and their daily chores such as cooking African food, the art of stringing real Maasai beads, playing typical board games, listening to African stories, reading Children story books available in both English & German as well as playing with African toys. Parents are encouraged to discuss the activities beforehand with our Camp Manager.
