Midgard, a 12,000 - hectare property , is located 85km northeast of Windhoek and only 70km from Hosea Kutako
International Airport.
Steeped in Namibian history, Midgard was originally established in 1937 as the retreat and farming estate of the List family,
founders of the Namibian Group of Companies, Ohlthaver & List. Today their descendants welcome you into this private
world: a rare experience as you enjoy the life of early German pioneers on their farming and wildlife estate.
Nestled in the stunning Otjihavera Mountains, Midgard has been the perfect place to escape to for many generations
who enjoyed the farm feeling, the vintage cars, the beautiful gardens, swimming pools and Loki’s playpark. The
name Midgard is popularly thought to mean “A paradise where the earth rises again, fertile and green, creating
a protected world and a safe empire for the people” and that is exactly what we offer - a sense of belonging, a paradise
where you can relax.
We are here to give you the perfect escape that feels like your home away from home. Midgard creates that comforting sense of nostalgia , a sense of comfort in the midst of nature and all it had to offer.
Midgard, where great memories are made.

Welcome to Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. A true landmark situated in the heart of one of the world’s most magnificent wilderness regions. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Twyfelfontein in Damaraland is home to one of the largest collections of rock-art engravings found in Southern Africa. Not only did the Khoi-San and tribes of ancient years leave us with a true cultural heritage, but the whole area is characterised by natural wonders such as Doros Crater, Burnt Mountain, Organ Pipes, Petrified Forest and desert-adapted animals – of which the desert-adapted elephant is probably the most well-known species.
Nestled along the mountainside, the lodge beautifully blends in with its surrounding environment. Using natural stone, carefully selected paint colours and thatched roofs, its design compliments the sandstone rock formations with minimum visual impact on this picturesque landscape. Magnificent views from the deck over the Huab Valley, desert plains and distant mountains provide for hours of relaxed comfort, peace and tranquillity.
Twyfelfontein is much more than just accommodation; it is a destination in itself.

Where the Skeleton Coast Comes To Life
Enclosed by the ever-changing restless movement of the dunes of the Namib Desert on the east and the pounding waves and beaches of the Atlantic Ocean to the west, lies the historic town of Swakopmund, gateway to the Skeleton Coast.
The Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre has been designed to complement the architecture of the historic (1901) station building, which today forms part of the hotel’s public areas.
The hotel offers the perfect balance between charming, old-world tradition and the thrill and excitement of modern-day entertainment.
