You can enjoy game drives from here on a shared or on exclusive use basis. We use closed 4 x 4 Land Cruiser vehicles. Very reliable, comfortable, and well-maintained with charging facilities, fridge on board, photography stabilizing bean bags, vehicle recovery equipment, VHF Radio communication, specialized guidebooks, first aid kit, seatbelts, binoculars and last but not least, great guides who undergo bi-yearly training with our internal and external guide trainers.
A balloon safari offers an opportunity to see the wildlife areas from a unique perspective. Take in the wilderness below as you silently float over the vast plains (in whichever direction the wind takes you). Follow a large herd of elephants, see a lion stalk its prey, or just marvel at the magnificent scenery before touching down for a bush breakfast like no other. If you only take one balloon flight in your life, this is the place to do it.
No safari is complete without experiencing a traditional outdoor, open-air lunch or dinner. Relax under the natural canopy of an acacia tree, while your personal butler serves up a feast. Nothing is quite so essentially safari as this. White linen, fine bone china and crystal glassware create a real "Out of Africa" experience - both daytime and night.
Just because the sun has set, doesn’t mean that Tarangire goes to sleep. It becomes another world altogether bathed in the moonlight. It becomes a sensory experience and one that we highly recommend when staying with us at Lemala Mpingo Ridge. The star-studded skies, the gentle winds, shadows of elephants as they meander through the forests, the still silence broken by the lions roar and the shining eyes of curious wildlife peering at you as you drive by.
During the 2.5 hours canoe on Lake Manyara, you will get a unique perspective on Tanzanian wildlife and landscape. A well-trained guide will accompany the safari. He will ensure your safety and enjoyment while explaining more about the natural history of Manyara and its surroundings. The best way to make this activity work is to have your guide take you on a game drive as normal and meet our guides at the Endala picnic site either in the morning or the afternoon. Your guide can pick you up a few hours later at Msasa lake view point. Note - The water level in the lake needs to be sufficient.
his is a truly authentic and unique way to get a glimpse of the way of life in Tanzania. You will meet Sunday, a local hero to many, who has a great story to tell. You will be guided throughout, enjoying a cultural experience in the village of Mto wa Mbu on the border of Lake Manyara National Park, and home to banana plantations growing tens of varieties - including the sweetest red bananas! You will spend a few hours exploring the villages using the favoured mode of transport in the area - local tuk tuks - designed to give you a birds eye view as you meander around the narrow streets. You will see the rice fields and learn how it plays such a vital part in the food of Tanzanians, meet the Makonde carvers, watch the colourful Tinga Tinga painters - and try your hand yourself, visit a local primary school which we support, and before finishing up with a scrumptious Tanzanian lunch in the shade of the famous banana trees.
We believe that a visit to a Masai Boma should be an authentic cultural and educational experience based on mutual respect. Over the years we have built a close relationship with Chief Lubolo, a young visionary leader with a strong passion for education. He invites our guests to one of his bomas offering a memorable opportunity to interactively experience the Maasai way of life. During the excursion through the traditional boma guests will participate in various unique cultural activities, have the opportunity to sit and talk with Chief Lubolo and are encouraged to delve as deep into the experience as possible! There will also be a possibility to buy traditional beaded jewelry handmade by the women in the boma. A rare and authentic glimpse into the distinctive Maasai culture.
Relax and unwind at our Spa overlooking Tarangire National Park. Treat yourself to a well-deserved massage from your travels, and absorb the sounds and melodies of your surroundings. Spas are a hymn to nature, intriguing to the senses, yet calming to the mind.
Mpingo Ridge Main Dining Area
Our separate spacious dining room allows guests to enjoy their meals whilst enjoying uninterrupted views of Tarangire stretched out in-front of them. The layout is individual dining with an a la carte menu. If you have any dietary requirements let us know and the chefs will whip up some specials.

Located in the Southern Serengeti (within the Moru Kopjes area), Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp is ideally situated to offer superlative access to the annual migration and the ‘Big 5’ with sweeping views overlooking Moru Kopjes, Lake Magadi and the endless plains.
Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp has its own individual style and feel, paying homage to the mobile camps of the 1930’s, a time when an African safari was truly a journey into the unknown, Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp’s ‘zero footprint’ and close proximity to nature combines to make an unmistakably distinctive and truly individual offering.

Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp's prime location allows guests to be in the midst of the drama of the annual Great Migration calving season, which occurs January - March. An evolutionary phenomenon, in the short span of just a few weeks some 400'000 calves are born while the herds reside in the Southern Serengeti region. The event attracts numerous predators, and visitors to the area have the opportunities to witness one of the grandest shows in nature.
When the herds of wildebeest and zebra have left on their journey back north, what remains in the area is an abundance of wildlife and excellent game viewing year-round. The Serengeti is famed for its Big 5, and guests to Serengeti Pioneer Camp will be treated to some of the best game viewing opportunities in East Africa.
Take a breakfast or lunch hamper on a game drive and enjoy a delicious gourmet meal while taking in the views over the Serengeti.
Lake Magadi is a large soda lake, and seasonally home to thousands of pink flamingo, a sight to behold. Year round the lake is home to numerous bird species to be enjoyed, and is an easy drive from camp.
A rocky outcrop with great historical significance to the Maasai people, Moru Kopjes features ancient maasai paintings on many of its boulders. Another fascination of the kopje, are the gong rocks, a geological phenomenon of rocks that produce musical sounds when hit, which were used as a communication tool by the Maasai people.

Afterwards, enjoy a toe-tapping, rhythmical performance as African drummers take over and thrill with their expressive beats, dance moves and acrobatic feats.
Enjoy half a day with the KopeLion team and discover how these dedicated conservationists are fostering lion-people coexistence within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). Working closely with local communities, they are creating a sustainable ‘corridor of tolerance’ that will re-connect the divided Crater and Serengeti lion sub-populations, ensuring their long-term survival. This insightful experience will give you the opportunity to understand the challenges and complexities of wildlife and human coexistence.
Accompanied by a KopeLion team member, you’ll be driven through Maasai villages, and a diversity of habitats, from the lush Crater rim, through sparse grasslands, and into a beautiful secluded forest spot. Here you’ll meet one of the KopeLion ‘Ilchokuti’ (lion guardians) who will talk about his work that entails both working with the local communities, and protecting lions.
Unwind after a thrilling day of game viewing with a bottle of fine wine and share some time with the KopeLion conservationists. This intimate setting lends itself perfectly to an interactive presentation by a member of the KopeLion team, followed by an exchange of questions and answers about the invaluable work they are doing to eliminate human-lion conflict along a ‘corridor of tolerance’ linking the Crater to the Serengeti. This is a perfect opportunity to get a full understanding of the work they are doing, and their commitment to a sustainable solution
Tonight, your dinner will be hosted by the lodge’s General Manager who will offer more insight about andBeyond's philanthropic investments.
