Perched on a large, suspended deck on a cliff overlooking the Zambezi River, the Bird House is an intimate and secluded retreat that celebrates the romance of the wilderness. The Bird House features a king size four poster bed, draped in mosquito netting and has an exquisite bird themed headboard, designed by Lightfoot Zambia. There is a small indoor lounge, with wooden and glass folding doors opening onto a private terrace and plunge pool. Unwind outdoors beside the river from the claw-footed, open-air bathtub covered in bubbles and with a cool, tall drink in hand as the sun sets over the Zambezi. The private wooden deck with plunge pool and dining area overlooks the river, making for unforgettable alfresco living. The Dog House occupies its own private world at the edge of the Tongabezi garden. Elevated walkways connect the three separate decks that make up your immense Dog House home with the rest of Tongabezi. The house is made up of two bedrooms with a central indoor and outdoor lounge, private plunge pool, dining area and bar. The mighty Zambezi River flows beneath the sustainable pine decking during high water, as the house is raised off the ground to guarantee spectacular views from each window, sofa, bed and bath. Set back from the Zambezi River, the Garden House offers a different perspective to the sweeping river views that can still be enjoyed from any of the main lodge decks. This is a secluded home for families and friends that appreciate privacy and space, allowing all members of the group to spread out a little within a safe environment. Rich, earthy-toned textiles and wooden furnishings create inviting shared spaces in the dining room and lounge as well as the private bedrooms, both fully en-suite. Stepping outdoors, a large, covered lounge opens out onto your own garden and plunge pool.
Nut House
A sanctuary hidden within the natural riverine scenery, the Tongabezi Nut House is entirely enclosed yet offers expansive views of the Zambezi River and warm Moroccan lighting throughout. A soft colour palette flows throughout this intimate space, which is open-plan and divided into two levels. The four poster bed sits covered in mosquito netting on the top level, and steps down into an indoor lounge, dining area and separate en-suite bathroom with an inviting claw-foot tub. Folding doors open onto the elevated private river deck and infinity plunge pool, where you can choose to take your meals in complete privacy if you wish.

The sampan dinner or early morning breakfast is available throughout the year, apart from during the highest river levels, which are usually from March to June.
A boat cruise at sunset or sunrise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the immersive beauty of the Zambezi, whilst keeping an eye out for wildlife on the river banks.
This is the only wildlife park in the area that provides refuge to white rhinos, which are closely protected by anti-poaching units. While on your game drive, keep an eye out for giraffe, buffalo, waterbuck, impala, wildebeest, zebra and diverse bird life.
All guests are invited to visit, engage with, and learn from the Tongabezi Trust School’s 280 bright, talented students, all of who receive free education and nutritious meals at Tujatane. In fact, if you are only going to do one happy thing during your stay at Tongabezi, we’d suggest it is a tour of this school.
This is one of our signature Tongabezi experiences, and for guests who haven't spent much time researching us online, we keep the Sandbar as a marvellous surprise. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of watching two sunsets -- above and within the water -- with sand in your toes and a drink in your hand.
Safaris can be quite sedentary, so we like to give our guests spaces where they can get moving and keep their energy levels high for their daily adventures. We have a personal trainer onsite daily.
Sit in the shallows of the Tongabezi Rock Pool with a cocktail in hand and the Zambezi River flowing before you, or spend some quality sunshine time by the Tongabezi Lap Pool a little further back from the river.
The Zambezi River, around Victoria Falls, is an excellent spot for both pole and fly fishing. There are over 75 species of freshwater fish in these warm, nutrient-rich waters, although it is usually one specific species that draws fishermen here – the tiger. Revered for their power and fierce set of teeth, landing a tiger fish is no easy task, even for a seasoned angler. Even an unsuccessful fishing outing on the Zambezi is still enjoyable if just for the beautiful scenery and tranquility.

Gomoti Plains Camp | Okavango Delta
The Gomoti Plains is located in a community run concession, on the edge of the Gomoti river system southeast of the Okavango Delta. The Gomoti tree is locally known as the water fig and grows alongside waterways in the Okavango delta. It’s a smallish tree which sometimes grows no bigger than a bush. The area is known for its large concentrations of wildlife which thrive on the Gomoti plains and waterways. The Gomoti trees line the waterways and provide excellent cover for nesting water birds such as herons and storks.This exclusive area has been a well-kept secret for many years. The Gomoti region has been the local haunt of many of the older guides and Okavango dwellers who refer to it in nostalgic terms when they used to camp along this river system.This new camp has 10 luxury tents which include 2 luxury family tents and 8 luxury double tents, all with en-suite bathroom facilities.. In addition to day and night 4WD game drives, the camp offers water based activities such as mokoro excursions and motor boat trips.

This is a dug out canoe poled by an experienced poler in the shallower waters of the Okavango. It is a great way to see the waterways and is tranquil and quiet. These excursions take place in the mornings or longer day trips can be arranged. Explore the islands around camp and come back rested and rejuvenated.
Walking safaris are also conducted generally in the morning with armed guides. The walks are leisurely and time is taken to observe the smaller things in the bush that one normally misses when driving. Walking is weather dependent, or dependent on the condition of the terrain.
Game drives are conducted in the mornings and afternoon/evenings at camp. They usually last about three hours each and are conducted along the river systems and flood plains around the camp. The wildlife in the area is prolific and chances are good to see some of the larger predators, herds of elephant and buffalo and all the plains animals that occur here. Night drives are conducted in the early evening offering one a chance to see the smaller more nocturnal animals with spotlights.
Taking a water safari by boat offers up a completely different world. Based at water level you will see creatures and details that you would otherwise miss from the land.
Main Area
The food served at camp is a wonderful mixture of local cuisine flavoured and cooked in good old fashion home style cooking. We call this bushfare. Mapula | NG12 Concession
Mapula, situated in the private Mapula and Sekwana Concession (NG12), perfectly encapsulates the Complete Botswana Safari Experience. This is a place where Botswana’s diverse ecosystems dance in perfect sync, bringing land, water and some of the country’s highest wildlife numbers together for a journey that feels perfectly balanced, lightly visited and ecologically explosive.
The lodge is a beautiful base and exciting launchpad. It keeps the Northern Delta’s magic close while offering countless ways to explore. Twice daily scheduled activities include game drives (by day and night), motorboat safaris (seasonal), mokoro excursions, walking safaris, fishing, birding, and cultural excursions. Private activities, Specialist Guiding, scenic helicopter flights and Epic Experiences will also be available (bookings and surcharges apply).
There will be 12 safari suites in total, 2 of which can be booked as interleading for families. Each suite will feature an en suite bathroom, a private viewing deck, and plush in-room comforts (refreshment station, wardrobe, desk, and 2 fans). Lodge facilities include covered and open-air dining settings (communal dining with private dining available on request), an elevated fire pit, swimming pool with a gazebo, a bar, curio shop, and lounge areas.
Mapula is set to open on 1 March 2027 (bookings now open).

Each suite will feature an en suite bathroom, a private viewing deck, and plush in-room comforts (refreshment station, wardrobe, desk, and 2 fans). 2 of the 12 suites can be booked as interleading safari suites for guests wanting to share the experience. The interleading safari suites comprise two independent units, each with all accommodation facilities, and are connected by an enclosed corridor with two independent entrances. Twin or king configuration is available throughout, depending on guest preference outlined at booking.

Explore Mapula’s deeper waterways by hard-bottom aluminium motorboat, travelling through the concession’s permanent channels and open stretches of water. These excursions offer excellent opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and wildlife along the banks, while revealing a different side of this remarkable wetland wilderness. Max 8 guests per boat.
Venture into the deeper waters of the Mapula and Sekwana Concession (NG12), where fishing brings a more adventurous dimension to the wilderness. Suitable for novice and skilled anglers alike, the experience is entirely catch-and-release, with the excitement of the pursuit matched by a deep respect for the ecosystem. Equipment is provided, although guests are welcome to bring their own. Each boat accommodates a maximum of six guests. Please note: fishing is not permitted during January and February every year.
The Mapula and Sekwana Concession (NG12) is where Botswana’s land, water and wildlife come together in remarkable abundance. From the lodge itself, birds are often within view, while game drives, mokoro excursions and walking safaris reveal different habitats and new opportunities for observation. Step into the rhythm of the wild on foot. Walking safaris at Mapula offer a closer, quieter way to experience the concession, where tracks, birdsong, plants and the smallest signs of life reveal a landscape that can easily pass unnoticed from a vehicle. Led by two fully qualified guides, each safari moves at a considered pace, allowing guests to read the wilderness through its details and deepen their connection with this extraordinary ecosystem.
Much of the Mapula and Sekwana Concession (NG12) unfolds in a story of liquid pathways and glittering channels. Experience it from the water on a mokoro excursion (traditional dugout canoe), gliding at eye level through the reeds as the smaller details of this extraordinary ecosystem come alive. Each mokoro accommodates a maximum of two guests and is poled by a fully qualified guide with years of experience, offering an intimate and unhurried way to explore the waterways.
Take to the skies for a bird’s-eye view of Mapula’s waterways, floodplains, wildlife and expansive wilderness. Doors-off flights can be arranged for unobstructed views, making this a particularly rewarding perspective for photographers. Booking is essential. Max 3 guests per flight. Surcharges apply.
