Wilderness Linyanti Tented Camp is ideal for families and small groups looking to explore this wildlife-rich concession. Unrivalled in its remoteness and sense of space, the camp overlooks the iconic Linyanti Marsh.
Eight large, airy tents recreate an explorer-type style, while the two main areas are on a slightly raised deck. Game drives and full-day excursions with lunch at remote picnic spots enable fuller exploration of the varying habitats, including the river, floodplains, open dry-land savannah and woodland.
Booking sole use of the camp is no longer a prerequisite, however, sole use remains possible to book, subject to availability.
INSIDER'S TIP: Look out for large herds of elephants that congregate along the waterways of the Linyanti River and floodplain in front of camp.

Morning and afternoon game drives offer the chance to witness compelling interactions being played out in the wild. Wildlife includes the rare roan and sable antelope, while plains game are prevalent and of course their predators, including lions, leopards and hyaenas – with the endangered African wild dog as an incredible bonus. Excellent birding.
Explore after dark with spotlights allowing you to find some of the less familiar species which are not active during the day. Perhaps lesser bushbabies, large spotted genets, aardwolf or serval.
Learn about tracks and signs, fruits and roots on a guided walking safari. A bush walk is a wonderful way of being close to nature, and gaining insights on the smaller fauna and local flora
* Weather permitting and subject to the availability of a qualified walking guide.
The log-pile hide, a short drive from camp, lets you watch the wildlife "rush hour" – especially in the dry season when large numbers of elephant move through the area.

Wilderness Pelo | Okavango Delta
4 May 2020 - 6 May 2020
Tall, graceful palm trees mark the location of Wilderness Pelo, while the island’s distinctive shape is instantly recognisable from the air. ‘Pelo’ is the local word for heart, and guests instantly fall in love with this tiny, tranquil island hideaway.
One of the smaller camps in Botswana, Wilderness Pelo has five tents with private verandas and magnificent vistas of the surrounding Okavango. The emphasis at Wilderness Pelo is on mokoro excursions – a smooth, silent way to connect both with the finer details of the Okavango Delta and the rich heritage of the people of this region.

This tour gives a very personal and authentic look into life in the townships.
The tour begins with a stop in at the MORE Community Foundation-supported Injongo Educare Crèche, Mfuleni where guests can help to make or serve the children breakfast, and read, play ball and have singalongs with them. This is followed by a short walk down the road to where the crèche began at the home of inspirational founder, Mavis Ngcongolo who will be there to greet the group.
Then it’s on to the township of Khayelitsha where guests can see the whole of Cape Town’s biggest location from Lookout Hill at the Tourism Centre, before taking a drive through the streets, hearing about its history and people as they go.
The tour’s last stop is Langa (meaning ‘sun’) and arguably Cape Town’s most vibrant and progressive settlement. Here, guests visit Langa Heritage Museum in The Old Pass Court building, Guga Sthebe Arts & Culture Centre for local empowerment, and Langa Quarter where the Ikhaya Le Langa project is furthering social enterprise and creating a tourism hotspot.
