Sikiliza Terms and Conditions
Booking conditions and procedures that apply to all clients travelling with Sikiliza
To book, please send a deposit of 20%. The deposit will be reimbursed if there is no room on the circuit on which you are booked. Please note that we will not accept a booking without a deposit. The balance is payable six weeks before the departure date.
1/ Cancellation:
From the date on which you confirm your booking, cancellation costs will be charged to you if you cancel. Please note that we have no choice but to be very strict over the application of this clause. Beware! Many establishments in Africa have less favourable cancellation policies, especially in the case of the total cancellation by the group. In this case, the cancellation clauses practised by these establishments will take precedence over ours.
Between 0 and 45 days before departure: 100%
Between 46 and 89 days before departure: 50%
90 days and after: 20%
The cancellation of your booking must be made in writing and will only be considered valid as from the date on which we receive the written notification. If you do not join the trip, or if you choose to either leave or modify the trip yourself during its duration, no refund will be made.
2/ Payment: We will not guarantee your booking unless payment has been received. Please understand that the majority of accommodation must be booked in advance. We cannot accept payment AFTER the departure of the trip. When we have received payment, we will send you all the documentation appertaining to your trip. If the payment has not been made within 30 days of the departure date, Sikiliza reserves the right to consider that the booking has been cancelled. The person who signs for the booking is responsible for the totality of the payment.
3/ Documents: The client must ensure that his/her passport and visas are in order for the countries to be visited. The company, its employees and its agents will not be held responsible if a client is refused entry to a country because his/her papers are not in order. No refund will be made by Sikiliza if the client is refused entry for whatever reason.
4/ Health: Anti-malaria precautions must be taken before the departure of the trip. Please consult your doctor for more detailed information. A valid vaccination card is necessary to visit certain countries. All persons having a health problem or a special diet must let us know when booking a safari. All clients, being aware of their itineraries, must ensure that they are in good health and in a physical condition to make the trip.
5/ Insurance: It is compulsory to have good travel insurance that will cover you in the case of a trip cancellation, illness, evacuation, theft or other. Please note that a credit card is not sufficient insurance cover for a safari.
6/ Itineraries: Please note that itineraries are flexible and depend upon local conditions. These conditions can depend upon the rainy season, migrations, political problems…
7/ Factors beyond Sikiliza’s control: Clients must be aware that unforeseeable circumstances such as bad roads, weather, breakdowns, an accident, the closure of a border post, the political situation etc are beyond Sikiliza’s control and can delay or change the normal course of the tour. The resulting costs such as a return flight, accommodation, food and personal expenses are the client’s responsibility. The client is aware that the possession of travel insurance is compulsory when a booking is made, and it is his/her responsibility to ensure that the travel insurance is all inclusive. Sikiliza will not take any responsibility in these circumstances.
8/ Risks: Please take into consideration that you will come into contact with wild animals. On rare occasions, animals can attack, and Sikiliza cannot guarantee that it will not occur. Should an accident occur on safari, neither the company, nor its employees, nor its agents will be held responsible. Please note that certain camps are not fenced.
The client is aware that on trips there is a risk of illness, accidents, death, losses or theft; damage to property due to forces of nature, accidents, negligence on the part of others, negligence on the part of Sikiliza; and other known and unknown causes.
The client is aware that such risks exist and that medical services will not always be immediately available on the trip.
The client is aware of all the risks described here above and agrees not to bring legal action against Sikiliza with respect to losses, complaints, costs, responsibility and damages.
9/ Air travel: Sikiliza is not responsible for any delays caused by air operators when travelling by air.
10/ Complaints: Any complaint during the trip must be made to the guide as soon as possible or, after the trip, should be sent in writing and reach our office within 30 days of the end of the trip, by registered post, or recorded delivery.
11/ Code of conduct: The client will comply with a code of conduct at all times on the trip and will not cause harm to anyone during the trip. If the client is disturbing the group, does not respect the laws, Customs, and regulations of the country, Sikiliza reserves the right to order the client to leave the group without any obligation to refund any costs. In these circumstances, Sikiliza, its employees or its agents will relinquish any responsibility for the client. The client will return home at his own cost and under his own responsibility without any cost attributable to Sikiliza.
12/ Sikiliza reserves the right to cancel any trip without warning. In such circumstances, the client will be refunded in totality.
13/ Photos: Sikiliza reserves the right to publish photos taken on safari for advertising purposes, and this without payment or permission. We guarantee that the photos will not be compromising.
14/ To the best of our knowledge, the description of the properties is as accurate as possible. We cannot be held responsible if changes occur after the final confirmation of the trip.
15/ This booking, and potential ensuing contract between the client and Sikiliza are considered to have been made in Harare , Zimbabwe and will be interpreted in accordance with Zimbabwean law. Should there be any legal action the Zimbabwe Supreme Court will be the only competent court.
16/ Payment of the account or any other partial payment in order to make a booking for a safari means that the client is in agreement with the conditions and information detailed above.

Sikiliza (Pvt) Ltd is referred to as “Sikiliza”;
The person accepting the booking by his/her signature is known as “the client”.
