Favourite part of being a travel consultant?
What I love most in my role as a travel consultant is the opportunity to offer personalized service. With over 20 years of experience in planning safaris, I’m dedicated to crafting unique adventures that exceed each client’s expectations.
What makes a good travel consultant?
A great travel consultant listens carefully to clients, understanding both their needs and desires. It’s crucial to take the time to create something truly special for them. Passion for travel and an in-depth knowledge of the products you recommend are also essential
How did you join Great Explorations?
After approximately two decades as a travel consultant at the Cardboard Box Travel Shop, I witnessed its sale and subsequent changes under new ownership. This pivotal moment inspired me to establish Great Explorations, driven by a desire to provide the high level of service my clients had come to expect from me.
Great Explorations Namibia, a boutique and specialized travel agency, was founded by Lilly, an industry expert with two decades of experience in guiding travelers through Namibia, Botswana, and Victoria Falls. Having started her journey with The Cardboard Box Travel Shop in 2006, Lilly gained extensive knowledge and expertise, particularly in customizing self-drive safaris, which is her passion.
We pride ourselves on being a small, dynamic, focused and independent organisation. Based in Namibia we have plenty of local advice and knowledge and are always on hand to sort out any last minute details of your Namibian holiday.
Our focus is on individual travellers and small groups, the overwhelming majority of whom are renting a car and self-driving around Namibia. However, we also arrange guided safaris and fly-in safaris, book accommodation and arrange specialist tours (eg birdwatching or walking).
Our in house rental company, Classic Car Rental Namibia, offers vehicles of the highest standard, serviced in our maintenance facilities. Perfect for a self drive in Namibia. Should our vehicles be fully booked, we will gladly book with the most reputable & established car rental companies.
We offer 24/7 backup and are close by while you are travelling and always reachable. Should you feel uncertain along the way or hit a “bump along the road” you can easily contact us, and we will gladly assist you to make your trip and stay in Namibia & Botswana as enjoyable as possible with little or no interruptions.
