Booking Terms & Policies | African Scenic Safaris
We are so excited to welcome you to Tanzania! Below is a breakdown of our booking process, payment schedules, and cancellation policies to keep your journey smooth, transparent, and worry-free.
1. Securing Your Reservation

• Deposit: A 25% deposit is required to confirm your booking and lock in your park permits and accommodations.
• Payment Methods: Deposits can be paid conveniently via bank transfer or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express). with a Surcharge of 3.5% Fee on the amount incurs.
• Refundability: Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable (flight portion transfers are strictly subject to airline policies).

2. Final Payment Schedule

• Invoice & Due Date: Once your trip is confirmed, you will receive an itemized invoice. Your remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the first land day of your itinerary (unless custom arrangements have been made with your Travel Expert).
• Accepted Payment Methods:
• Direct Bank Transfer (Wire transfer to our Tanzanian bank account)
• Online Card Portal (Secure credit/debit card payment)
• Late/Last-Minute Bookings: For adventures booked within 61 days of travel, full payment is required upon confirmation to secure all reservations immediately. Standard cancellation policies apply.

3. Cancellation and Refunds

Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to African Scenic Safaris. At the time we receive the cancellation instruction, all moneys will be refunded less the following cancellation charges, deducted from the total cost:

61 days or more before departure: Cancellation fees equal the amount of your deposit

46 to 60 days before departure: 50% of the package price is non-refundable

16 to 45 days before departure: 75% of the package price is non-refundable

15 days or less before departure: 100% of the package price is non-refundable

If the reason for cancellation is covered by your insurance you may be able to reclaim these charges. Notwithstanding the above, where we have issued your domestic flight tickets, standard airline cancellation policies will apply.

4. Important Terms & Additional Notes

• Domestic Flights: Issued flight tickets are subject to standard airline cancellation and change policies.
• Unused Services: Please note that partial refunds cannot be granted for unused meals, hotel nights, game drives, or airport transfers during your trip.
• Personal Travel Expenses: African Scenic Safaris is not responsible for independent travel expenses incurred in preparation for your journey (e.g., international flight changes, entry visas, vaccinations, personal gear, or travel insurance).
• Itinerary & Accommodation Adjustments: In rare circumstances (such as extreme weather or lodge availability changes), African Scenic Safaris reserves the right to rearrange your itinerary or substitute accommodations with an equivalent property to maintain the highest quality experience.
