At the helm of Leeto restaurant is renowned Chef, Garth Almazan. “Leeto”, loosely translated from the Khoi San word meaning journey, pays homage to the Khoi tribe who roamed our beautiful coastline and is also representative of Garth’s personal journey as well as the culinary journey that he invites our guests to experience.

Born and bred in Cape Town, Garth grew up in a fisherman’s family and has fond food memories – including the delicious seafood family dinners prepared by his Philippine grandmother. Garth’s journey brought him to the wild natural beauty of Paternoster after spending 18 years as Executive Chef at the find dining restaurant, Catharina’s at Steenberg wine estate. Having cooked for princes and princesses and for the birthday of our beloved Madiba, Nelson Mandela, Garth now lives close to nature and in harmony with the ocean. This is a great inspiration for him and has substantially influenced the food concept in Leeto.

Dinners that reflect the finest offerings of the area – all conjured up and prepared with finesse by Chef Garth. The culinary offerings are authentic. There is a strong emphasis on local, homemade and seasonal ingredients using the treasures of the Ocean and the region. The food is prepared fuss free, simple but with a local twist and a subtle sophistication and finesse.
