There is a wide variety of animal and bird life seen at Samburu National Reserve. Several large game species common to Kenya's northern plains can be found in abundance here, including the following dry-country fauna: gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, oryx and reticulated giraffe. All three big cats, Masai lions, Tanzanian cheetahs and leopards, can also be found here, as well as elephants, Cape buffaloes and hippo. Rhinos are no longer present in the park due to heavy poaching.
There are over 350 species of bird. These include grey-headed kingfisher, sunbirds, bee-eaters, Marabou stork, tawny eagle, Verreaux's eagle, bateleur, vulturine guineafowl, yellow-necked spurfowl, lilac-breasted roller, secretary bird, superb starling, northern red-billed hornbill, yellow-billed hornbill, and various vultures including the palm-nut vulture.
The Ewaso Ng'iro river contains large numbers of crocodiles.[3]

Day 1
Check in at Air Kenya terminal, Wilson airport at 7.30 am for your flight to Samburu National park departing at 08.30 am.
Baggage allowance of 15kgs per person may be checked in. Arrive Samburu Airstrip at 09.55 am where you will be met and transfer to your camp.
Your safari includes game drives in 4x4 land cruiser. You will be taken on an afternoon game drive departing at 3.30 am returning to the camp at dusk for dinner and overnight
In addition to the 'big five', the harsh and arid plains of Samburu are home to certain species of game which are unique, in Kenya, to the northern parks - Beisa Oryx, long necked gerenuk, Gravy zebra, blue-shanked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe.
Day 2
A full day in Samburu with up to a maximum of two game drives as wished.
We recommend early morning game drives leaving camp at about 6.30 am, return to the camp for late breakfast.
Spend the rest of the day at leisure, at 3.30 you will be taken on an evening game drive and sundowner. Return to the lodge at dusk for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
We recommend an early morning game drive leaving the camp at 6.30 am and returning for a late breakfast.
After breakfast check out and you will be transferred to airstrip for you flight back to Nairobi departing at 11.20 am to arrive Nairobi Wilson airport at 13.05
