Introduction

Our camel walking safaris are exclusive and tailor made to suit each group. The safari is a journey with 8 to 14 camels, depending on the group size (minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6). Camp is moved each morning by the camels and camp team. There are no vehicles involved and the size of the camp is limited to how much the camels can carry.

The walks take place in eastern Laikipia, an area north of Mt. Kenya known for its wilderness and wildlife. The area boasts the highest diversity of large mammals in Kenya and is also home to several endangered species such as the Grevy's Zebra, Wilddog, and Jackson's Hartebeest. To reach the walking safari, its either a two hour drive from Nanyuki Town and the scheduled flights that service it, or by private charter flight.

There is no single supplement, children under 16 yrs pay just 50% of the price and you'll have English speaking Masai or Samburu guides the whole way. Sometimes the camels have to walk up to 7 days to get to the start of the safari, and back home at the end. If this happens (weather dependent), a surcharge is applied. This is to cover the staff wages, food and camels.
