Day 1: Cape Town

Welcome to Cape Town!

On arrival you will be transferred to The Clarendon Fresnaye by private vehicle where you will spend the next 3 days exploring the region.

The rest of the day is yours to unpack, unwind and explore at your leisure.

  

Day 2: Cape Town

A suggested Full Day Tour:

Embark on an incredible journey around the Cape Peninsula. Stroll along the boardwalk to overlook the Penguins at Boulders Beach. Visit the most south-western tip of Africa. Dine in the seaside village of Simon’s Town. Taste wine in historic Constantia. 

Pickup 8 am ~ 5pm drop-off.

  • Discover the breathtakingly beautiful Cape Peninsula with great spots to take photos
  • Enjoy a scenic drive along the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive
  • Visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve & Cape Point
  • Visit the most south-western tip of Africa and take an iconic photo
  • Stroll through Boulders Beach, home to the delightfully cheerful African penguin
  • Visit the seaside towns of Simons Town and Kalk Bay
  • Taste award winning wine at the highest tasting room in the Constantia valley

Day 3: Cape Town

A suggested Full day Tour:

Step back in time and visit the oldest wine producing region in the Southern Hemisphere and taste some of the most famous wines ever produced in this country, enjoyed by royalty in the 18th century as well as the likes of Napoléon Bonaparte. 

Pick up 9am ~ 5pm drop-off.

THE HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Take a step back in time with a cellar tour and chocolate and award winning wine pairing at Groot Constantia
  • Feel like royalty and visit a wine estate, which originally formed part of the Constantia Estate.
  • Enjoy a leisurely afternoon of sipping on wine, under the tall trees, enjoying the relaxing sound of the babbling brook at Eagles Nest Wine Estate
  • End the day at one of the highest tasting room in the Constantia Valley with views for days

OR 

On the City Foodie Tour you will experience the flavours that are unique to South Africa and Cape Town. With our traditional biltong & droewors (spiced and cured meat) and koeksisters (kinda like a donut) you’ll see Cape Town through the eyes and taste buds of a local. Cape town is a melting pot of different cultural and ethnic groups that will share their foodie passion with you. The astonishing variety of food that Cape Town has to offer will let you taste the passion the producers have for their craft. The city and surrounds are home to many cute coffee shops and local  restaurants that will get your taste buds tingling.

THE HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Visit an artisanal coffee roaster to kick start the morning
  • Stop by Honest Chocolate – using only the finest raw (unroasted), organic Ecuadorian cacao this will be the perfect accompaniment with your brew
  • Take a walk to Frankie Fenner Meat Merchant for some biltong and droëwors, made the South African way!

  • Visit the famous brightly coloured houses of the Bo-Kaap and learn about the heritage of the vibrant Cape Malay people
  • Tuck into a Cape Malay selection of samosas and sweet treats like koeksisters and milk tart and visit to Atlas Spice Trading to shop for spices to take home
  • Visit Publik Wine Bar for a taste of local and rare boutique South African wines
  • End the day at an exclusive tasting featuring artisanal locally distilled gins, served with local Fynbos garnish

 

Day 4: Knysna

Today you will be transferred from The Clarendon Fresnaye to Cape Town International Airport in a private vehicle, where you will board your domestic flight to Plettenberg Bay Airport. 

Perched on the edge of South Africa’s largest forest alongside an immense tidal lagoon, Knysna is an eco-wonderland offering magnificent beaches, hiking, walking, cycling and water activities.

Kanonkop House has breathtaking views of the Knysna lagoon and the giant sandstone cliffs dominating the entrance to the Indian Ocean (the famous ‘Knysna Heads’), yet is tranquilly positioned in a private and peaceful indigenous forest only 5 minutes drive from the centre of town.

Day 5: Knysna

Along the Garden Route, visitors will find a large variety of adventure sports, from horse riding to bungee jumping. 

For a bird’s eye view – the Bloukrans bungee jump is the world’s highest commercial bridge jump (216m) and is set amid the beauty of the Tsitsikamma Forest. Skydive in Plett for what is said to be ‘the most scenic drop zone in the world’. And keep things sky-high with a Tsitsikamma canopy tour, where participants follow a course 30m above the forest floor.

Those who like to stay closer to the ground will enjoy the Outeniqua biking trails – self-guided trails in the Harkerville coastal forests and marine reserve.

There are a number of parks offering one-of-a-kind encounters with wildlife. 

One of the most famous is Monkeyland, a sanctuary for various species of free-roaming monkeys; visitors can join them in the forest on a ‘monkey safari’. Located next door is Birds of Eden, which is said to be the largest free-flight aviary in the world picture an indigenous forest with waterfalls and elevated walkways.

At the Elephant Sanctuary visitors can touch, feed as well as walk with African elephants.

For a once in a life time experience visit Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where you can walk alongside a cheetah while they explore their extended territory. This is a unique experience that will stay with you for life!

Day 6: Knysna

The Garden Route is an area famed for farm-fresh produce, oysters and seafood  and an emerging wine route that already boasts 18 wineries.

Bramon Wines was the first estate to produce wine in Plettenberg Bay; it is situated in The Crags, a beautiful, mountainous area. Try their bubbly at a tasting, or order a bottle with lunch: tapas-style dishes served at tables in the vineyard.

For great food, try the Harkerville Saturday Market: pop into this bustling little market for fresh bread, hot coffee and a variety of other organic food. It begins at 8am every Saturday, with breakfast served under the trees. Another favourite is Market on Main, for delicious food and live music.

Expert tips

Plettenberg Bay’s local markets are great if you are looking for a souvenir to take home with you. From fruit preserves to curios, your best bet of finding them is at one of these markets!

Day 7: End of Itinerary

Today your trip sadly comes to an end.  Enjoy your last breakfast and morning outing before your private transfer to Plettenberg Airport for your domestic flight back to Cape Town.
