COVID-19: ACTIVITIES & SERVICES

Days 1 - 2: The Rift Valley

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Nairobi, you will be met by our driver who will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your flight to the Loldia airstrip in Naivasha. On arrival half an hour later, you will be met and drive north for just over two hours, from Naivasha around Lake Nakuru to Deloraine House, arriving just in time for lunch.

Deloraine House was built in the 1920's by Lord Francis Scott, a prominent early settler. Deloraine has to be one of the grandest examples of colonial architecture in the country, and is a unique hosted property with half of Kenya’s history bottled up in it. The farm is set on the lower slopes of Londiani Mountain, which is a forest and bamboo shrouded extinct volcano, on the western edge of the Great Rift Valley. The house is run by the Voorspuy family who are well known for their Offbeat Riding Safaris.

Your two night stay here can be as active or relaxing as you wish - there is plenty to do: walking on the farm, riding and swimming to name but a few.

Days 3 - 4: Ol Malo Conservancy

After breakfast, you will head to Loldia Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Wilson Airport and onward connection to Loisaba with Safarilink. On arrival at Loisaba, you will be met by a driver/guide from Ol Malo and return to the lodge in time for lunch.

Ol Malo is situated in the deserts of Samburuland, Northern Kenya, on what was an overgrazed cattle ranch. The 5,000-acre holding has been transformed into a prime, and beautiful, conservation site. Being a family owned and operated ranch there is endless fun to be had from game drives and picnics to riding, walking, fishing, medicinal plant walks and learning how to survive like a Samburu…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Kick off your shoes and relax in your own personal bush home, experiencing Kenyan life as we live it at whatever pace you choose.

Scheduled flight from Loldia Airstrip to Wilson Airport on Safarilink;

Days 5 - 7: Masai Mara National Reserve

Have an early breakfast at Ol Malo before being driven back to the Loisaba airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara.

Touch down two hours later at Ol Kiombo Airstrip where a Rekero Camp representative will meet and take you on a short game drive back to camp and lunch.

Time on safari is yours to do with as you wish and your driver/guides will discuss each day with you as you go along. The norm is an early wake up with coffee/tea around 6am to depart on a pre-breakfast game drive at about 630am. Being so close to the equator Kenya’s sunrise and sunset varies by an hour at most throughout the year, the temperature can also be comparatively cold in the early mornings and evenings, so it is a good idea to dress in layers when you go out on a drive as the middle of the day will be hot and dry.

After a sumptuous breakfast, the middle of the day is yours to do with as you please, many people go back to their tents and have a shower, perhaps read and take a nap before lunch or play board games in the main mess/lounge area of camp. After lunch you have a few hours to relax again before heading out around 330/4pm on an afternoon game drive – perhaps follow up on the pride of lion you saw in the morning, or head out to look for an elusive leopard or cheetah. After the game drive is time for a well-deserved pre-dinner drink around the camp fire and a chance to swap stories with other guests.
