Day 2: Kwatale Conservancy

The days will start with an early wake-up call for coffee/tea and rusks for setting off on an early game drive or walking safari in the concession, this is a good time to witness the first animal activities for the day. Experienced guides will do their best to find the animals on your wish-to-see list and will share their vast knowledge of the animals, birds and plants of the bush with you.

Return to the camp for some time at leisure to relax and perhaps do some bird watching before lunch and then another afternoon game drive. The advantage of a private concession are that the game vehicles do not have to stick to the marked roadways and can go off track to get closer to the animals; night drives are also allowed where your ranger will use a powerful spotlight to search for the nocturnal creatures of the bush. A highlight of an afternoon drive is always the sundowner drinks at a scenic spot, often overlooking a pan or waterhole.

Day 4: Okavango Delta

Early morning wake up call followed by coffee and breakfast at Tuskers before you embark on the +-5 hour road transfer through the Moremi Game reserve to Xobega Island Camp. This is a complete game drive experience as the transfer takes you from Tuskers, into Moremi’s Khwai Gate through the reserve along the Khwai riverfront, and stopping to enjoy a picnic lunch.

Hippos rule the waters around the island, lions are heard across the water, and a Pel’s fishing owl takes up residence in the trees. The Okavango Delta offers spectacular sightings of big game, magnificent birdlife and extraordinary natural beauty. Boating safaris are the main attraction at Xobega Island and you will embark on your first sunset boating safari before returning to camp where a hot bucket shower will be ready and waiting for you to freshen up before dinner and campfire chatter.

You will arrive at Mboma Boat station where your guide from Xobega Island Camp will pick you up in a motorboat. Climb aboard and enjoy the 45-minute boat cruise through the Delta waterways to Xobega Island.
