Arrive Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Clear customs - most nationalities require a visa for entry. These can be applied for online prior to travel.
You will be met outside the terminal by your private safari guide. Depart on safari for Tarangire, which is about a three hour drive. Overnight in Arusha can be arranged if you arrive at night.
Arrive at Kuro Tarangire later in the day, and in time for an evening game drive - your first safari experience!
Meals are in a private setting.

Tarangire is known for sightings of elephant herds. Walking safaris and night drives are also possible.
The Tanzanian government from 16 Aug 2019, changed the process of issuing visas at Kilimanjaro International Airport. The change involves guests queuing three times in order to receive the visa, an exercise that can take in excess of 2 hours to complete.
To avoid this inconvenience, we strongly recommend that our guests apply for the E-Visa at https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa.
The E-Visa takes two-three weeks to be processed and the applicant can check the status of his/her application here https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/checkapplicationstatus. We encourage guests to apply for their E-visas 2 months prior to their arrival date to avoid any last minute disappointments.

Day notes
After breakfast this morning, depart with your guide and drive up into the Ngorongoro Highlands. Arrive at Entamanu Ngorongoro camp in the afternoon.
In the evening, enjoy a guided hike along the Ngorongoro Crater rim, with outstanding views to the plains below. This is wild country, and apart from a few Masai herdsmen, you will see no one else.
Very early the next morning, you depart the lodge with your guide, aiming to be one of the first safari vehicles descending into the crater.
Early morning is a magical time on safari, and to have the crater virtually to yourselves at sunrise, is worth the effort; predators are still on the move, and sightings are uninhibited by other vehicles.
The crater floor supports an incredible array of wildlife, and you should expect to see a variety of species including lions, elephants, buffalo and possibly endangered rhinos. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor, and return to the lodge in the afternoon, and possibly in time for an evening walk along the Crater rim, or a visit to a Masai village.

*Bear in mind that the crater rim is at 7000ft, and quite exposed. So it's hot during the day, though gets chilly at night. It's a unique and beautiful environment with spectacular views, resident wildlife and local Masai people, who freely roam with their cattle. The tents have heaters, the beds large duvets and hot water bottles. At night it can also get quite windy. Just be aware that is an environment of extremes!

After breakfast this morning, you depart the highlands with your guide, and drive down on to the Serengeti Plains. Enroute, you can stop at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. Enjoy a picnic lunch out on the plains, before arriving at Lemala Ewanjan Camp in the late afternoon.
Lemala Ewanjan Camp is located in the central Serengeti, in an area well known for sightings predators such as lion and leopard.

Today you depart the Serengeti by road, and drive back past the Ngorongoro Crater, stopping for a picnic lunch enroute. In the afternoon, arrive at the wonderful Gibbs Farm - a working coffee farm in the highlands below the crater.
Enjoy two relaxing days in the wonderful setting, before flying home.
