Day 1: Kigali

Arrive at the Kigali airport where you'll be met by your guide and given a downtown Kigali city tour. Enjoy lunch and dinner in your own time and to your own cost.

Kigali has excellent restaurants and we recommend dining out. You could arrange this with your guide on arrival.

Day 2: Missing Point

Drive south to Nyanza, visit Royal Palance en route. You'll enjoy lunch in a local restaurant before checking in to Nungwe Forest Lodge.

Day 3: Missing Point

Enjoy a half day forest trek to see Angola colobus monkey, followed by a Tour of the Tea Plantation.

Day 4: Gisenyi

Drive to Kibuye on shores of Lake Kivu stopping at local markets and have lunch at Cormoran Lodge en route. Dinner is to your own account.

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park

Spend the morning at leisure on the lake shores before enjoying lunch to your own account. You'll take a leisurely drive to Parc des National Virunga in the afternoon, seeing local villages en route and the sight of the volcanoes rising in front of you.

Day 6: Volcanoes National Park

At 07h00 transfer to the Park for a Gorilla trek. In the afternoon you will go on a tour of an ex-poachers village.

An upgrade to a 5 star lodge in Parc des National Volcans is available.

Day 7: Kigali

Embark on a tour of local markets this morning OR a golden monkey trek or 2nd gorilla trek at an additional cost.

This afternoon drive to Kigali for your final night where a farewell dinner at a local restaurant will be held.

Day 8: End of Itinerary

Transfer to airport for onward travel arrangements.

An optional one day add-on is available to Akagera National Park at the beginning or end of the trip from Kigali. As no accommodation of a good enough standard is available in Akagera Park you would return to Kigali for a second night at Kigali Serena Hotel (not included).

The trip costs per person reduces depending on how many guests are in the group up to a maximum of 4 person per vehicle.
