Make your way to OR Tambo International Airport to check in for your flight to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Hotel Slipway where you will spend one night.
Bring your yellow fever certificate to show authorities on arrival
Please travel with the children's full birth certificate showing both parents names
Pack whatever you can fit into a medium-sized, soft carry-on bag is more than enough. Pack a costume, shorts, T-shirts and flip flops and beach shoes. Scuba and snorkelling gear can be rented from the lodges.

You will be transferred to the domestic terminal today to check in for your light aircraft flight to Mafia Island departing at 10h45 and arriving at 11h15. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the lodge.
You have 6 nights, 5 full days to relax and to explore this magnificent island that is still very remote and unspoilt.
Luggage allowance is 15kgs per person in soft sided bags.
The snorkelling and diving is done 20 minutes drive from the lodge on the marine reserve side of the island
You can swim and kayak in front of the lodge
There is a lot more to see once you get away from the shore. Mafians are friendly and we recommend taking a walk through the village of Utende. Mafia is predominantly Muslim and so when walking outside of the lodges it is respectable for women to be covered from shoulders to knees and always ask before taking photos. There are no ATMs on Mafia, so ensure you have enough cash (carry a mix of US dollars and Tanzanian shillings).
