Day 1: Mana Pools National Park

On arrival at the airport you will be met by your pilot who will then take you through to the domestic departure side of the airport for the flight into Mana Pools. The flight is about 90mins and your safari starts as soon as you land in Mana Pools.

You might consider staying in Harare for an overnight prior and for this including airport transfers meals etc. you should budget on about $150.

Please also note that their are luggage and weight restrictions for these flights and we shall advise you on this prior to travel.

Excluded

Airport Departure Tax - US$15.00 Per person

Visa Fees - Dependant on passport nationality

Day 2: Mana Pools National Park

Your first full day on the Mana Pools Flood Plain which typically starts at first light with a light breakfast and hot coffee around the fire. We then get going by vehicle to read the tracks and signs in the bush and listen to the calls that we hear. Being in Mana gives us a lot of flexibility to walk so we often set off on foot tracking the footprints or signs that we see.

Day 3: Mana Pools National Park

Afternoons in Mana Pools are oftened worked out based on what you saw in the morning so either we return to the various sightings or take it easy with a slow walk down the flood plain through to sun down drinks and then a game drive back to camp, again being flexible to what is happening on the day is key.

Day 4: Mana Pools National Park

Highlights of Game Viewing in this beautiful national park would be tracking a pride of lions, watching wild dog's hunting down the flood plain area, spending time watching a big elephant bull wandering down the flood plain feeding or maybe even watching them swim in the river as they cross over to the many grassed islands in this area.

Day 5: Mana Pools National Park

We will have another morning of game viewing on the flood plain and then go with a packed lunch up towards Chitake Springs, depending on time of year we may stop at one of the many natural pans that occur inland and spend some time watching who comes in to drink.

Day 6: Mana Pools National Park

Chitake Springs is one of my favourite places in Mana Pools and you will immediately feel the remoteness and wildness of this amazing water point that attracts a lot of animals during the day and night and we shall be camping very close to the action so it can be very noisy at night.

Day 7: Mana Pools National Park

There are no real game viewing roads in this area so the bulk of our time here is spent walking around the area or sitting at a hidden vantage point to watch the water and see who comes to drink, there is a lot of buffalo here so seeing a big herd arrive and drink from the spring is an amazing experience.

Day 8: Mana Pools National Park

After a quick check around the springs based on what we might have heard through the night and then we will load up our vehicle and head off to Kanga Pan, the plan would be to arrive there in time for lunch so you can settle in and enjoy the camps facilities.

Day 9: Mana Pools National Park

This pan when you get through to the very dry times of the year becomes a real focus for a good range of animals and birds, so just sitting on the comfortable decking or at your room with a cold drink is a great way to watch this theater as it unfolds.
