Day 6

Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

Day notes

Awake at dawn for coffee and biscuits before heading out into the savannah at first light, a time when the animals are at their most active. Your ranger and tracker team will help you make the most of your time on safari. Their expert knowledge of the bush and the game make your time on safari so much more rewarding, as they explain all the intricate details of this amazing wilderness. Simbambili is located in the game rich northern Sabi-sands Reserve, which flows unfenced into the Kruger National Park. The reserve is home to a wide variety of African game, including the famous "Big Five" - lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Return to the lodge mid-morning for a hearty brunch, after which the more adventurous could partake in a bush walk with your ranger or tracker, to discover the small hidden treasures from close up. During the heat of the day relax in your private sala or cool off in your private plunge pools overlooking the African savannah. In the afternoon, as the heat of the day begins to subside you will head out once again. You will break your safari at sunset for drinks in the wild, continuing the safari after dark with the aid of power spotlights. This is the time when the cats become active, and this area is famous for its high concentration of elusive leopards, which you may be lucky enough to see. Return to the lodge for dinner.
