Mendoza Wine Tour with Cooking Class

Day 1: Mendoza

You arrive in Mendoza today where a Trek representative will be on hand to receive you and transfer you to the Park Hyatt hotel. Your afternoon will consist of a short walking tour of the area with private guide to get familiar with restaurants, shops and other areas of interest. This evening will be at leisure to enjoy the wonderul cuisine of the city. Trek Safaris will be happy to help with restaurant suggestions. 

Day 2: Mendoza

Breakfast is included each morning with your hotel stay, so please enjoy the wonderful breakfast the Park Hyatt offers. Today is a full tour around the Luján de Cuyo region of Mendoza famous for the wonderful wines produced throughout the area. Around 9am, your guide will be in the hotel lobby ready to transfer you to Andeluna Winery for a premium tour/tasting. Here, you will enjoy the beautiful and elegant winery while tasting some excellent high altitude varietals. The next stop will be Corazon del Sol, a very small, ultra modern project in the Tunuyan region. Owned by a successful California winemaker and producer of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the world in 2011, this winery has had the chance to really spread its wings and focus on making an exquisite line of malbecs. Lastly we will stop at Zuccardi Valle de Uco for a 5 course wine paired lunch with premium wines. Third generation winemaker Sebastian Zuccardi, is working in front of a young agricultural and winemaking team, responsible for producing wines with the highest standards of quality in the Uco Valley. Zuccardi wines expresses the essence of the soils and the extreme climate conditions and altitude in which are planted the vineyards. After your lunch and time exploring the winery, your guide will transfer back to the hotel where you have an evening at leisure.

Activities and Services

Day 3: Mendoza

Today will be another full day of wine tours/tasting starting with your guide meeting you at the Park Hyatt around 10am. Your first winery stop will take place at Bodega Benegas. Bodega Benegas is one of the most historical wineries in Mendoza. Tiburcio Benegas was the founder of Trapiche (now Penaflor), in 1883. After selling off most of the business, this family kept some of the vineyards and a small winery and converted them into a smaller operation focused on high quality wines. This traditional winery is on the border of neighboring wine regions Maipu and Lujan and houses fine French style blends and single varietals including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese and Syrah. The next tasting will be at Vinos Cobos Winery. Here, you will enjoy Paul Hobbs trademark Argentine brands from the source. Enjoy the results of 20 years of this pioneer's toiling efforts to maximize the potential expression of the Malbec grape. Hobbs has won countless awards for his wines and is one of the most well known winemakers in the world. After Vinos Cobos, you will head to Bodega Recacer for a 6 course wine-paired lunch. Executive chef Sebastián Weigandt heads the kitchen and will deliver signature Argentine dishes all anchored by Recacer's award winning wines. The winery itself is a Tuscan-inspired stone structure built in 2004 and sitting and the foothills of the Andes Mountains. After finishing your lunch, you will transfer back to the Parky Hyatt for another evening at leisure in Mendoza.

Day 4: Mendoza

Again you will enjoy breakfast before meeting your guide in the lobby around 9am for a transfer to Finca Agostino Winery. Today will be a full day private cooking class and wine tasting with lunch you have actually prepared with the Chef. After an introducing to the winery staff, you will head to the garden picking fresh herbs and vegetables. This cooking class is sure to be one of the highlights of the time in Mendoza as you learn everything from break making, to local dishes, and the proper way to cook & fire meats. After enjoying the fruits of your labor, your guide will transfer back to the hotel where you have your last evening at leisure.  

Day 5: End of Itinerary

This morning you will have time at leisure to rest before being transfered back to the airport.
