Tarangire National Park; named after the river that crosses through the park, is Tanzania’s sixth largest park and home to large herds of elephants. Spend the afternoon exploring the park before making your way towards Honeyguide Tarangire Guide for dinner and overnight.

This camp is located within the park and only 15minutes from the park entrance gate. Situated in a quiet and undisturbed wildlife rich area, with countless game viewing tracks and easy access to the lower Tarangire valley. Due to the surrounding Acacia studded grasslands, you need not go far to enjoy the abundant resident game, before finishing off your day with breathtaking sunsets. The camp is small and intimate, with only 10 well placed tents, all of which can be extended into triples and quadruples. This is an eco friendly camp offering 24hr electricity, plumbing to each tent & solar hot water day or night.

End of Itinerary

Day notes

This morning will be your last day. If time permits, you have one last game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park, on your way back to Arusha with a packed lunch. Named after the Maasai word emanyara, a euphorbia plant species grown into a hedge around a family homestead, Lake Manyara’s shores are a shimmer of pink, due to the large flamingo population and was once dubbed the ‘loveliest lake in Africa’ by Ernest Hemingway. You will spend a full morning in the park taking in the many different species of birds and mammals, including elephants, leopards and if you are lucky, the tree climbing lions that the park is famous for. In the late morning you will continue from Manyara and drive the short distance to Arusha, where the safari ends.

Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport can be arranged at additional cost.

From Arusha, you can extend your East Africa trip, to Zanzibar and its beach resorts. Or continue on safari, by crossing the border into Kenya. Amboseli National Reserve, at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro is a short drive away.
