Day 1: Darwin

ARRIVE DARWIN

Arrive into Darwin today, and be met on arrival at the airport by your Swagman Tours driver/guide then transfer to the accommodation to settle in. This afternoon is at leisure to enjoy this tropical city before transferring to Stokes Wharf for dinner (own expense) to relax amongst the panoramic views and spectacular sunset.

Day 2: Darwin

DARWIN SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast enjoy an orientation tour of Darwin city including WWII and Cyclone Tracy sights plus visit the Darwin Museum and Gallery to see the rich history and artefacts of the area. Continue to Doctors Gully to witness the unique phenomenon amongst high tide where hundreds of wild fish flock to the shoreline in search of fresh food, with the opportunity to hand feed the fish. After lunch (own expense) travel 50km south to Berry Springs and visit the Territory Wildlife Park in time to see the Birds of Prey presentation. This expansive park has three main areas; the Wetlands with its aquarium, lagoons and billabongs housing tropical fish, turtles, and both species of crocodile. A Monsoon Vine Forest which hosts a 1km boardwalk gently lifting toward the canopy of natural bushland to view the array of birdlife and finally a Woodland area that includes a Nocturnal house, where you have the opportunity to see animals rarely seen in the wild. Return to Darwin this afternoon with time to freshen up at the hotel before transferring to the renowned Mindil Beach Sunset Markets for dinner (own expense) to stroll around this popular market place of over 300 stalls offering various arts and crafts and multicultural food experiences.

Day 3: Katherine

DARWIN - KATHERINE GORGE CRUISE

After an early breakfast head south along the Stuart Highway stopping at the solemn but beautiful Adelaide River War Cemetery in its serene surroundings to see the military graves honouring those killed in the bombing of Darwin. Continue along the Stuart Highway and visit Edith Falls, a series of cascading waterfalls and pools on the Edith River before arriving at Katherine in time for an afternoon gorge cruise along one of the most majestic waterways in Australia to see the abundant wildlife including crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks of the river.

Day 4: The Kimberley

KATHERINE - EL QUESTRO STATION

After an early breakfast begin the journey to renowned El Questro Station, a wilderness park and working cattle station situated on 700,000 acres and boasting thermal springs, rainforest, spectacular mountain ranges and waterfalls – a truly delightful spot. Cross the border into Western Australia and join the Gibb River Road, arriving at Emma Gorge late afternoon to check in and have dinner

Day 5: The Kimberley

EMMA GORGE & EL QUESTRO STATION

This morning spend time climbing into rugged Emma Gorge itself with its spectacular waterfall and pools and variety of flora and fauna. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax, or alternatively take part in one of the many optional activities available at El Questro Station, including barramundi fishing, a Chamberlain Gorge cruise, guided walks, scenic flights or a sunset tour (all own expense).

Day 6: The Kimberley

EMMA GORGE - KUNUNURRA

After breakfast traverse to El Questro station for the final time to enjoy a stroll and swim in picturesque Zebedee Springs with its circular gorge wall and crystal clear thermal rock pool. Afterwards travel to the northernmost town of Wyndham and marvel at the view of the Kimberley, it’s rivers and Cambridge Gulf from the Five Rivers Lookout. Continue to Kununurra, our stay for the next two nights.

Day 7: The Kimberley

KUNUNURRA SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast prepare for your two hour scenic flight over the magnificent Bungle Bungles ranges, the Ord River Irrigation Area, Lake Argyle, Ivanhoe Crossing and the Argyle Diamond Mine before landing in Kununurra then transferring back to the accommodation. After lunch travel out to see the relocated homestead of the pioneering Durack family, then board your cruise boat for the 55km cruise along the Ord River from the dam wall at Lake Argyle back into Kununurra township, enjoying a spectacular Kimberley sunset, with dinner at own expense this evening.

Day 8: Purnululu National Park

KUNUNURRA - PURNULULU NATIONAL PARK

This morning a local guide joins us for a tour of the town itself, the Ord River irrigation scheme farms, Ivanhoe Crossing and Diversion Dam. Afterwards continue into Purnululu National Park and arrive at the permanent tented accommodation mid-afternoon to check in before heading out to explore this world famous area with its unique beehive shaped domes and this afternoon and tomorrow morning will include visits to Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge, Echidna Chasm and Mini Palms Gorge.

Day 9: Fitzroy Crossing

BUNGLE BUNGLES - HALLS CREEK - FITZROY CROSSING

Enjoy some further sightseeing this morning in this magnificent location before an early lunch at the tented accommodation area then travelling to the old gold township of Halls Creek to see remnants from the gold rush era and a visit the China Wall escarpment. Later on travel through the vast open savannah grasslands of the cattle stations heading for Fitzroy Crossing, arriving at our accommodation situated on the banks of the mighty Fitzroy River and set on 50 acres. Relax under a shady tree in the landscaped garden surrounds before dinner at the Lodge.

Day 10: Cable Beach

GEIKIE GORGE CRUISE - BROOME

After breakfast travel out to Geikie Gorge, an ancient limestone barrier carved by the Fitzroy River with sheer soaring white and grey walls, in time for an early morning cruise to take in the abundant birdlife and see the freshwater crocodiles sunning themselves on the bank of the river. Continue westwards to the cosmopolitan pearling township of Broome and our accommodation located on beautiful Cable Beach in time for sundowners with a spectacular sunset.

BROOME SIGHTSEEING

Today visit the highlights of Broome including Chinatown, the Sun Outdoor Theatre, the Japanese Pearl Divers Cemetery, Anastasia’s Pool, Gantheaume Point and Dinosaur’s Footprints along with a guided tour of the Pearl Luggers Museum to learn the history of the pearl industry. This afternoon transfer to renowned Cable Beach to enjoy a spectacular sunset with optional camel rides.

BROOME - FREE DAY OR OPTIONAL HORIZONTAL FALLS TOUR

A day at leisure to explore Broome further, rest or perhaps embark on an optional tour to the unique Horizontal Falls, see the below details;

HORIZONTAL FALLS OPTIONAL TOUR

Fly from Broome to the Horizontal Falls on board a Seaplane and enjoy a spectacular landing on the calm waters of Talbot Bay. Transfer to fast boat and enjoy the experience the incredible tidal power of this natural phenomenon as you are taken through the falls. Enjoy breakfast or lunch on the houseboat. View Paspaley pearl farms in Talbot Bay as we take off for our return flight. Fly at 200m over hundreds of islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago and Cape Leveque before heading south along the coast of the Dampier Peninsula over Lombadina, Beagle Bay, Carnot Bay, Willie Creek & Cable Beach prior to landing in Broome. Tour Cost - TBA.

Alternatively a full day Horizontal Falls tour is available travelling by 4WD along the Dampier Peninsula to see the Beagle Bay church, Cape Leveque and One Arm Point where you board the seaplane to view the falls as per above.
