Day 1: Overnight Travel

Day 2: New Delhi

You are met at the airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Overnight at Taj Palace Hotel

Day 3: New Delhi

All day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi includes Humayun's Tomb, Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid (Mosque), Chandi Chowk (Moonlight Square), India Gate and a drive passed the President's Palace and Parliament.

Day 4: Udaipur

Morning flight to Udaipur, the romantic city of lakes.

Afternoon city tour includes the City Palace (overlooking Lake Pichola), the Jagdish Temple and the Sahelion ki Bari (Garden of the Maids of Honour).

Day 5: Udaipur

Morning visit to the magnificent temple complexes at Eklingji and Nagda.

Afternoon optional boat-ride on Lake Pichola.

Day 6: Jodhpur

A fascinating drive through the Aravali Hills on the edge of the Thar Desert to Jodhpur, founded in 1459.

En-route visit the exquisite intricately carved Jain Temples at Ranakpur.

Day 7: Jodhpur

Visit to the imposing Meherangarh Fort, dominating the city from its hilltop eyrie with magnificent views. There are excellent exhibits of armory, clothing and paintings.

Afternoon Village Safari.

Day 8: Pushkar

Drive to Pushkar, where there are over 400 temples dedicated to the many Hindu deities.

Pushkar is famed for its camel fair at the full moon in November, .

Day 9: Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur.

Sightseeing includes the City Palace, with its beautiful courtyards, gardens and the Sawai Man Singh II Museum, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) and the Jantar Mantar (Observatory) built by Jai Singh.

Day 10: Jaipur

Drive into the rugged hills surrounding Jaipur to the Amber Fort/Palace. A painted elephant will transport you up to the fort with its huge gateways and pillared pavilions.

Afternoon free to further explore Jaipur.

Day 11: Sawai Madhopur

Drive to Ranthambhore National Park, a premier Project Tiger reserve, noted for daytime sightings of tiger.

Afternoon game drive.

Day 12: Sawai Madhopur

Morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 13: Sapotara

Morning game drive.

Afternoon depart by road to Ramathra.

Day 14: Sapotara

Free day to enjoy the fort and its beautiful rural environs.

Optional walk to explore the area, canoe on the lake, or bird watch.

Day 15: Agra

After breakfast depart by road for Agra,

En-route visit the Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, founded by the Mughal Emperor Akbar.

Day 16: Agra

At sunrise, see the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The morning light plays on the white marble enhancing its beauty.

Afternoon return to the Taj Mahal, visit Agra Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah.

Day 17: Gwalior

Morning train to Gwalior.

Afternoon city tour includes the magnificent fort and archaeological museum.

Optional evening sound and light show.

Day 18: Khajuraho

Morning train to Jhansi, where its valiant Queen fought the British in 1857.

Drive to Orcha with its beautifully preserved 18th century fort.

Continue to Khajuraho. Afternoon explore the magnificent Chandela temples, well-known for their sculpted stone friezes depicting erotic themes.

Day 19: Varanasi

Fly to Varanasi, the holiest city of Hindu pilgrimages.

Afternoon visit Sarnath, where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.

Day 20: New Delhi

Boat-ride on the Ganges at sunrise to experience the rituals of bathing, prayers, meditation and cremation.

Later, sightseeing in Varanasi City.

Afternoon fly to Delhi.

Farewell dinner.
