Since we’re based in South Africa, we are able to use the small places, which would be difficult if we were based elsewhere. General Terms of Use

Please read the following booking terms and conditions carefully, as they set out the terms and conditions of the contract between you and Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours Pty Limited, t/a East Cape Tours and Safaris. The following terms of use govern the use of the Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours websites and services. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before you accept these Terms by: (a) placing an order and/or an enquiry through the use of any of our contact forms on our Websites (or any other method of contact), or (b) otherwise using the Websites. If you do not agree with all of these terms and conditions, do not make use of the Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours websites and services.

Bookings

Bookings, except for late bookings, are confirmed on the condition that a non-refundable deposit, of a minimum of 35% of the total package price, is paid to Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours within 24 hours of confirmation of your bookings. You will be advised at the time of booking what payment is required for your particular chosen travel arrangements. Please note that many service providers require 100% pre-payment within 24 hour of confirmation nowadays. The balance of the cost of your travel arrangements must be paid no less than nine weeks prior to departure. If your booking is made within nine weeks of departure, the total cost of your travel arrangements must be paid at the time of booking.

Please note that failure to pay on time will result in the automatic cancellation of your booking.

Air and Train Tickets

The air and train fares and taxes quoted are current and are subject to change without prior warning should the airline or train travel provider impose an increase in rates for any reason. Should the fare quoted not be available at the time of booking, the next applicable fare will be booked and amended costs advised accordingly. Please note that fares may increase between time of booking, time of payment and the ticket being issued. Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours cannot be held responsible should airlines or railway operators discontinue flights or train journeys on certain routings or change scheduled timetables resulting in missed connections. Should an amendment in routing or itinerary be necessary, any additional costs incurred will not be borne by Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours. Airfares and train fares are subject to the prices and conditions quoted by the particular airlines and/or railways and cannot be guaranteed by Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours. The onus is on the agent and the passenger to check that there have been no changes in these prices before making final payment thereof.

Methods of Payment

Credit Cards (Master Card and Visa): In accordance with International Airline Travel Association (IATA) bulletin # A1/00 and our banks FNB and Nedbank, we need a signed and validated Standard Credit Card Charge Form. The agent acknowledges that he/she has seen the card or received a copy of the card and that the signature on the card is the same as that on the Credit Card Charge Form. If the card is a foreign credit card then you may be requested to supply various other details.

Cash or EFT Transfers: We accept EFT transfers, or cash deposited into one of our bank accounts, subject to condition that the EFT transmission report or the cash deposit slip is provided to ourselves and such payment has been confirmed as received by ourselves. All payments must be made in full and free of any bank charges.

Insurance

We consider adequate travel insurance to be essential. All premiums must be paid at the time of booking, as cover will not be effective until then. Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours will not be liable if anyone should fail to take adequate insurance cover.

Flight and Train Travel Timings

Flight and train travel timings and other timings are provided by airlines and railways and are subject to Air Traffic Control restrictions. All means of transportation are subject to weather conditions, the need for constant maintenance, and the ability of passengers to check-in on time. There is no guarantee that flights, ferries, ships, trains or coaches will depart at the times stated on any itinerary, voucher or tickets which you receive. All timings are estimates only, and we do not accept any liability for any delay, however arising, or for any schedule alterations.

Flight and Train Travel Reconfirmation

It is your responsibility to ensure that you reconfirm the departure date and times of all your flight arrangements and train journeys at least 72 hours prior to departure. This is particularly important in respect of subsequent train journeys in South Africa and flights leaving South Africa. Fifth Avenue 4×4 Adventure Tours hereby specifically excludes any liability and cannot be held responsible for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages that may arise for any delay and/or travel service provider failure i.e. accommodation needed, car hire, shuttle service and/or any other loss as a result of your failure to reconfirm flight, train journeys and/or connecting flight details.

Documents

All vouchers are only prepared on receipt of full payment of the package price and will be ready 72 working hours after payment has been received. Should you require hard copies of your documents and air tickets to be forwarded to either yourself or the departure airport and or train station, this may be arranged. These will be sent by e-mail. However, the courier costs in respect thereof will be for your own account.

It is important that you check all details of your travel documents before travelling. If there are any inaccuracies on any of your travel documents, or should you have any further queries, you should contact your agent immediately. Fifth Avenue 4x4 Adventure Tours will not be liable for any delay and/or loss occasioned as a result of any inaccuracies on any travel documents once you are in receipt thereof.

Passports, Visas and Health

It is entirely the clients duty to ensure that all passports and visas are current, valid, obtained on time and will be valid for 6 months after return to home country; and that any vaccinations, inoculations, prophylactic (e.g. for malaria) and the like have been obtained where required. This also includes all necessary documentation required for travelling with minors.

Forced Changes to Your Itinerary

We hope and expect to be able to provide you with all of the services we have confirmed to you at the time of booking. We plan arrangements as long in advance of your holiday as you allow, using independent suppliers such as hotels etc. over whom we have no control. On rare occasions, changes do have to be made, and we reserve the right to make these.

Our Cancellation Terms

Cancellation prior to 9 weeks of travel – full 35% deposit is forfeited;

Cancellation 9 – 6 weeks prior to travel – 50% of total cost is forfeited;

Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to travel – 100% of total cost is forfeited.

General Terms of Use
Please read the following booking terms and conditions as set out by “the Tour Operator”: Fifth Avenue Adventure Tours t/a East Cape Tours.

Bookings

Bookings are confirmed on the condition of a deposit, which is normally 35% of the total package price. You will be advised at the time of booking what payment is required for your particular chosen travel arrangements. Please note that a number of service providers, specifically air fares require a 100% pre-payment. The balance of the cost of your travel arrangements must be paid no less than nine weeks prior to departure. If your booking is made within nine weeks of departure, the total cost of your travel arrangements must be paid at the time of booking.
Failure to pay on time may result in the cancellation of your booking.

Air and Train Tickets

Methods of Payment

East Cape Tours banks with First National Bank and Nedbank South Africa and make use of Nedbank 3D secure credit card payment system as well as DPO Paygate for payment processing.  A payment link will be sent to your email address via Nedbank Iveri Divert or DPO Paygate portals, which means East Cape Tours and their staff do not have access to your credit card details. 
Cash or EFT Transfers: We accept cash and EFT transfers.

Cancellation 9 – 6 weeks prior to travel – 50% of total cost is forfeited*;
Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to travel – 100% of total cost is forfeited.
*Should cancellation occur – the policies upheld with the lodge booked with will take effect – enquire within.
